REDRUTH ST PIRAN’S FESTIVAL 2015 Saturday 7th March Events Brochure www.visitredruth.co.uk ST PIRAN PARADE At midday there will be a procession in Fore Street (see page 6-7 for route), including “St Piran” himself, local school children, Gorsedh representatives, and four Cornish musical elements: Bagus Crowd, Whipple Tree, ‘Oss and Mummers and The Hornets. Dress up in your finest black & white and come join in the celebrations… The Cornish Studies Library, Alma Place 10- 4pm Exhibition of art, memories and photography inspired by the ‘Brewing Up the Past’ project capturing the history of the former Redruth Brewery site. A special free trail for kids – with prizes to be won! – is also available to collect from the Library. Also at Alma Place we have Tin Panning and St Piran’s Dig for children and Cornish food producers Roseworthy Hog Roast and ‘Ansum Burgers. Murdoch House - An exhibition by Redruth Story Group, homemade light refreshments, a big welcome to one and all. Live street entertainment from Hotch Potch’s Tall Butler and White Lady, Tarquin the Children’s Entertainer, Roskeltek and West Coast Cheerleading Academy at various locations around the town. St Rumon’s Club will be hosting the ‘Redruth Traction Engine Club’ alongside Cornwall archery, Nerf gun attractions, Hot food, Bouncy castle and Sweets and inside is the St Piran Karaoke King / Queen Competition starting at 3pm. Redruth Youth Council will be out on the day taking your views on how you felt this year’s St Piran’s Festival has gone. Redruth Methodist Church - Craft Fair in the Wesley Buildings from 10am - 3pm - see page 67 for our NEW FREE classic coach tour that will drop you off right over the road. FREE children’s town trail to celebrate the ‘Brewing up the Past’ project capturing the history of the former Redruth Brewery site. Collect a trail from the Cornish Studies Library in Alma Place and explore Redruth. Prizes to be won!
