This is lived by: * being welcoming to all members of our community * helping children develop positive attitudes to school and respecting staff, other parents and students. * creating open, honest and positive relationships with parents and students * committing to a school community free from unlawful discrimination, victimisation and harassment * communicating in a constructive, timely, honest and courteous manner. The Code of Conduct also refers to building constructive covenants with all partners. This is done by: * conducting ourselves in a manner which enhances the good order of the school * upholding and complying with applicable laws, policies and procedures of the school (including Workplace Health & Safety and Student Protection) * ensuring children are punctual, consistently attending and thoroughly prepared for school * following the directions of staff in all educational and school activities * ensuring that our presentation and personal appearance is appropriate for the school community * disclosing fully and accurately any information required by the school in its enrolment process and committing to further update this information as required. The carnival was a huge success and despite the very hot weather and mosquitoes, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Thanks to the parents from St Clare’s who helped in various ways on the night. A special thanks must go to Mrs Cherie Jenkins who helped organise the team and then scored throughout the night despite her injured shoulder. Thanks Cherie! Netball & Rugby League Trials This Friday students in years 4 to 6 will be competing a Netball and Rugby League Gala Day with other schools in our District. The Rugby League is held at the State School and Netball is held on various courts between St Clare’s and the State School. Best wishes to all of our students who will These communities that we aspire to through this code are based on be competing. honesty, trust and respect. If we feel that there are decisions or issues relating to the school that we are unhappy with it is more appropriate to Have a good week discuss them with the class teacher or myself. It would certainly be in breach of the Code of Conduct to discuss school issues on Facebook for Greg Hoare example. It would also be a breach of the code for a parent to approach Principal a student in order to resolve or investigate an issue regarding their child. The Code of Conduct is basically an expectation that anyone deciding to enrol their children in Catholic schools will be supportive of the Vision and Mission of Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns. This code applies in all areas of school life including parental involvement in meetings, sporting functions, classroom support as well as camps and excursions. The code can be accessed by the following link: http://www.stclares.qld.edu.au/policies/ CodeConductParentsVolunteers.pdf Swimming Carnival Congratulations to the students who attended and competed at the District Swimming Carnival last Friday evening. The Transfiguration is probably the pinnacle of Jesus’ life. About a week after Jesus told His disciples that He would suffer, be killed, and be raised to life, He took Peter, James and John up a mountain to pray. While praying, His personal appearance was changed into a glorified form, and His clothing became dazzling white. Undoubtedly, the purpose of the transfiguration of Christ into at least a part of His heavenly glory was so that the disciples could gain a greater understanding of who Jesus was. The disciples, who had only known Him in His human body, now had a greater understanding of the glory of Christ, though they could not fully comprehend it. However, it gave them the faith they needed after hearing the shocking news of His impending death. Let us pray… God of infinite love, In my every thought and action today guide me to the bright and loving light of your Word. Help me to be aware of the many ways you allow me to share in your life today. Thank you for the gifts you have placed in my life. Let me be grateful every moment of this day.
