The NEFF company representative will be here Thursday, March 5th after school in
the media center. Anyone wanting to order a letterman jacket needs to pick up an order
form from the front office and meet with the representative on Thursday to be sized and
turn in order form. This will be the last time this year to order jacket.
College of Central Florida is hosting Preview Night 2015 at the Levy Center, March
5th. Students interested in attending the College of Central Florida in the fall should
attend. All those who attend will have the application fee waived.

Congratulations to February Student of the Month
is an excellent student who always helps those around her. She is dual enrolled and
is a wonderful office aide. She does whatever is asked of her.
Jaycie Anderson is Chiefland Middle Student of the Month for January. Jaycie gives her all. She
gives 100% effort. She pays attention in class, asks questions and is serious about learning
and her grades. She is a role model for other students. She is a pleasure to teach.

Students wrote the following about him:
Mr. Wilson is a smart man who
always knows what he is talking about. He is strict, but for his students own
good. I respect him for how he manages to get his students to pass his class
and he knows when to be funny. Mr. Wilson is a great teacher. He knows
what his students need and he prepares his students for more advanced
courses, as well as the real world.

Congratulations!!! We are so proud of Austin Vincent and Willie Brannon who are going on to
play Football at the collegiate level. Austin Vincent will be earning his Ivy League education
while playing football for D1 FCS Brown University! Willie Brannon will be a Wildcat playing for
D1 FCS Bethune Cookman in Daytona. These two young men make INDIAN NATION proud!!!
Scholarship Opportunities
Applications for the Sevin/Ellis Scholarship through the Florida Credit Union are now available to families of Florida Credit Union
Members. The award is for 12th graders who plan to continue their education in the year following graduation. Florida Credit Union
membership is available to all who work or reside in the county. Even if a student’s family does not currently have an account with
us, they can open a simple savings account for $5.00 in order for their child to be eligible for this award. Applications are available
at https://www.flcu.org/about-us/scholarships.
Plum Creek Community Scholarship Applications are available in the front office. Seniors are encourage to stop by and pick up an
application. The deadline to complete the application is January 27th.
If you are interested in becoming a teacher, the Florida Retired Educators Foundation is offering a scholarship. This
scholarship pays $3,250 over a four year period. Applications are available in the front office. The deadline to turn in
the application to guidance is Friday, January 30th.
Suncoast Foundations awards needs and merit-based scholarships to seniors. Interested students should check the
Suncoast Credit Union website, www.suncoastcreditunion.com for the 2015 applications.
For over fifty years, the Southern Scholarship Foundation has helped thousands of students with outstanding academic abilities, good character and
financial need realize their dream of a college education. Qualified students attending Florida State University, Florida A&M University, the University of
Florida, Tallahassee Community College, Santa Fe College, and Florida Gulf Coast University are awarded scholarships in the form of rent-free

Central Florida Electric is pleased to announce the continuation of its scholarship program designed to offer scholarships to deserving students at high
schools in their service area. The program will offer a one year, $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. If you are interested, please pick up an
application in the front office. Applications are due to guidance by March 11th.
Ben Roberts Care Center, INC recognizes outstanding high school seniors in the community who are dedicated to further their education and giving back
to their community. The scholarship is a one time $250 payment that will be paid directly to the college or institution of higher education of the successful
applicant. If interested, please pick up an application from the front office.
The Levy County Schools Foundation Scholarship is now available. Students can pick up an application in the front
office. Students must have a 2.5 GPA, ACT score of 17 or SAT score of 800. Students must have completed FASFA to
apply. Applications are due to Guidance Counselor April 1st. This is a wonderful opportunity for seniors.
A list of 8 scholarships is available for interested seniors in the front office. Please stop by and pick it up today so you can apply.

Scholarship Opportunity
The Law Firm of Ayo and Iken, a Florida law firm helping people with divorce and custody issues
recognizes parents who co-parent their children despite the hardships of a separated household.
Parents that successfully prioritize the best interests of their children should be recognized. We
would like the children of those parents to be a success in life and recognize the outstanding example
of parenting shown by their mothers and fathers.
The Law Firm of Ayo and Iken, would like to help Florida high school seniors who have lived in a
divided household from which two parents strive to maintain respect for each other as an ongoing
concern while caring for their children. Two winners, selected by a committee of child custody
attorneys, will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship to be used toward their first year of college. The
deadline to apply for the scholarship is May 1st, 2015.
If your parents:
 Are permanently separated or divorced
 Communicate openly and positively
 Join together to continue showing you love
 Work together in your best interest
Then we want to hear from you
Eligibility:
 Must be attending senior year of a Florida high
school
 Plans to attend post-high school education
 Lives in a household separated by a divorce
 Other criteria as listed below
Scholarship Requirements:
You must write a 2000 minimum word essay describing how your parents continue to work together despite
being part of a separated household. Your essay must describe in detail how your parents overcame obstacles
and remained excellent role models.
Selection of Winner: The winning essay shall be selected by a committee of child custody attorneys. The
winning essay shall have individual names removed and then will be published online in a special section of
our website showing examples of excellent parenting skills. The scholarship award will be paid directly to
each winner, preferably at their high school awards event.
