ADMISSION INSTRUCTIONS 2015 – 16
Eligibility:
Vidyashala is a fully residential composite pre-university college for boys having classes from VIII to X
and PUC. Admissions are open only to VIII standard and I PUC (for boys only). Repeaters are not
allowed. There is no provision for primary education.
Application:
1. Prospectus with application forms can be had from 1st of March on payment of Rs. 300/- in
person or through MO or bank draft drawn in favour of “Correspondent, Sri Ramakrishna
Vidyashala, Yadavagiri, Mysore 570 020.” While submitting the application, a registration fee of
Rs.350 is to be paid either in cash or through bank draft or MO. Postal orders and cheque are
not accepted.
2. While sending the registration fee the prospectus number must be mentioned clearly. The last
date for receipt of application is 10th April.
3. A recent passport size photo of the candidate is to be affixed to the application.
Syllabus:
The institution follows Karnataka State syllabus. The medium of instruction is English. Sanskrit /
Kannada / Hindi is provided under first language. Study of Kannada as first or third language is
mandatory for all. However, Kannada will be taught from basics for those who have not studied
Kannada.
Admission procedure:
Admission is based on written tests in Science and Mathematics based on VII standard syllabus, a
test in General English, an I.Q. test, a medical examination and an interview. The candidates may
take the tests either in English or in Kannada medium. Admission tests will be held between 21st and
25th of April in batches. The list of selected candidates will be notified on 26th April around 5.30 pm
and the first instalment of fee must be remitted before 4th May.
Question papers of previous admission tests are not made available. There is no provision for
advance reservation of seats. Selected candidates have to get admitted to the school between 2 nd
and 5th of June on the date specified.

Annual charges:
The annual charges including board and lodging and other fees will be approximately one lakh to be
paid in four instalments. In addition stores deposit of Rs. 15,000/- is to be made to cover expenses
on books and other stationery items, hobbies, excursion, examination stationery, sports articles and
such other personal expenses.
For Scholarship Applicants only:
1. Only a few scholarships are available. Those who apply for scholarship must collect the
prescribed scholarship application form along with the prospectus.
2. Applicants must have scored 75% marks (Grade A) in standard VI & VII. Marks cards of VI
and VII will have to be enclosed.
3. Applicants must specify in the application the type of scholarship required. Applications
submitted for a particular scholarship will not be considered for other categories, not even
for the paying category.
4. Applicants for scholarship must submit the Income Declaration Form prescribed by the
Vidyashala in addition to the income certificate certified by Tahasildar/Notary. Details of the
different types of scholarship are furnished in the prospectus.
