PRESIDENT’S CORNER
It was good to see so many blue CCW
scarf’s and/or blouses in the pews on CCW
Sunday. Not only did the women wear blue, so
did some of the husbands. Thank you!
It was also nice that after the nice things
Father Derk said about us that everyone had
clapped for what we do and stand for. Some
even came up to me afterwards and thanked us
personnally. After mass we went to Tom
Henry’s for some good food and to just to have
time to socialize with everyone.
Make sure you read all that’s coming up
and mark your calendars.
YSIC,
Nora Stark

LEGISLATION
by Nadine Hardin
Make the trip to Catholic Days at the Capitol
and make a difference!
Scheduled for March 3-4, 2015, Catholic
Days at the Capitol provides the opportunity to
put into action our faith's call to political
responsibility and allows us to strengthen the
presence of our Catholic values in the public
square. By joining with Floridians who share
our faith to advocate for laws that protect and
defend human life and dignity, we can give a
voice to some of the most vulnerable and
marginalized populations in our state and help
promote the common good for all of Florida's
residents.
Catholic Days activities include:
† A legislative briefing on policy issues
affecting human life and dignity
† Pre-scheduled meetings with lawmakers
† A luncheon for Catholic Days participants,
Florida's bishops, and legislators
† Group photos of each diocesan delegation
with their bishop
† Tours of the current and historic capitol
buildings
†
40th Annual Red Mass of the Holy Spirit
con-celebrated by the bishops of Florida to pray
for those working in the legislative, judicial, and
executive branches of government

SERVICE COMMISSION
by Michelle Brent
Mark your calendars for the next ICE CREAM
SOCIAL ~ August 1, 2015. Get ready for a funfilled day with tasty treats, a cake walk, the
barbershop quartet, and the Storm Troopers
will be returning.
Although it is early, work is already under
way; we will need many volunteers. There will
be a sign-up sheet for volunteers in April/May.
We will need everyone to sell tickets over the
summer. Proceeds will benefit Bags of Hope
this year. I am currently seeking a balloon artist
and face painter who will donate their time for
the event.
Don’t forget to spread the word… CCW has
First Communion outfits to lend for both girls
and boys.
Contact Kathy Steinke at
[email protected] or 407-4437723 for more information or to
make an appointment to see the
outfits. First Communion will
be May 2-3, 2015.
KEEPING IN TOUCH
Please let us know of any illnesses or
deaths of Council members and their
families so that we can request
prayers and/or mail out a card.
Contact Denise Maile at 407-671-2477 or

Caps of Love Collection
Please bring all your caps to our meetings
over the next few months. The project will
continue through our General Meeting in April
so that the caps can be delivered at the ODCCW
Convention, April 25-27, 2015.

Please send all volunteer hours to Kim ~

THE GREEN PIG
Don’t forget to feed the pig at our
monthly meetings. You will find her
at the welcome table or on the
refreshment table. All the money
collected goes to the Parish Food
Pantry.
Wrap Up on Holiday Events
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA
Michele Brent reported that the project went well; Santa “Wayne” was wonderful. All our helpers did
an amazing job, and the children had a wonderful time. Game time found the parents participating with
their children while sitting with them at their tables. 117 meals were served. Thank you for
volunteering for this event, as it couldn't be done without all of your help!
BAKE SALE
Margie Miller reported we made $221.50. The money will be used for our luncheon when we have our
day retreat, “Discovering Mary, Discovering Ourselves.”
Mary, Queen of the Universe Advent
Field Trip
On December 7, 2014, a group nine CCW members attended. It was well organized and a spiritual
experience for all who attended.
