She was unable to have her boat perform, travel through water, or do any maneuvers whatsoever no matter how hard she tried. After trying for over three days to make it work properly, she decided to seek help. She putted the boat over to the local marina in hopes that someone there could identify her problem. Workers determined that everything from the engine to the outdrive was working perfectly on the topside of the boat. So, a puzzled marina employee jumped into the water to check underneath the boat for problems. Because he was laughing so hard, he came up choking on water and gasping for air. Under the boat, still strapped in place securely, was the trailer. Page 16 March 03, 2015 "We Welcome New Patients" Thomas Quigley M.D. Michael Derhodge O.D. America don’t remove In God We Trust from our present money system. So many things that have had anything resembling God his son Jesus Christ or God’s word the holy sacred scriptures have been banned from schools and government. Psalm 33:12 tells us blessed is the nation whose God is the lord. It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of almighty God - to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits and humbly thank him for his protection and love towards us. George Washington our first president of the united States said our constitution was made for moral and religious people to obey their God and will thereby be richly blessed. James Madison our fourth president said the Declaration of Independence laid the cornerstone of human government upon the organization of christianity. It is christianity that gives our civil freedom and political and social happiness. If christianity fails all blessings from God will fail too. Christianity was the religion of the founding fathers of this country. Is is the duty of our nation to select and prefer christians for their leaders. Our supreme court has cited many court rulings. In 1962 prayer was taken out of schools. The pledge of allegiance to our national flag has also been banned. Prayer in the government activities has been taken away. In God We trust on our money systems in jeapordy now. Folks why can’t the bible especially the new testament be taught in schools? Its divine revelation can teach the purest principles of morality. The Bible is the best of all books for it is the word of God and teaches us the way to be happy in this world and the next. We should be happy to read it and regulate our lives by its teachings. There is no country in which the people are so religious as in the United States of America. Folks everyone’s walk with christ will begin with an initial decision to follow him in repentance and faith. We are all sinners and each of us needs to acknowledge before God that we are sinners. The only way a person can receive forgiveness is by faith in Jesus Christ as God’s son. Confessing your faith in Jesus Christ means confessing him as your lord and savior. Jesus has told us in Biblical scriptures no one can reach the father except through me. Folks believe Jesus died for your sins and only through faith in his death and resurrection can you be forgiven. Thank You! WAKE UP AMERICA Various retail/office space available. We Need Clean Rentals Please Call 863-494-3600 We announce with heavy hearts that we lost the best of us on Valentine's day. Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Fiance, Friend. Jerry Bird has passed away. How can anyone sum up a life as humble yet awe-inspiring as his? We tend to idealize that which we no longer have. We can honestly say that no idealization could ever compare to the real man. Jerry was the kindest man anyone could hope to meet. He never let anyone leave his presence without a hug, a meal and a smile. He devoted his life to his family and, as such, was a dedicated tradesman in the electrical field. He loved his son, daughter, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren so very much. He was a devoted husband to Mary Bird for 46 years until her passing in 2012. There was so much love left in his heart that he found love again in Bonnie Stine. Unfortunately, the creator called him home before he could make her his wife. These, of course, are the facts of his life. The memories are what we hold dear. Watching Saturday morning cartoons with his grand daughters, teaching his daughter how to drive, the numerous vacations taken with his family, the fishing trips, the comforting words in any situation. Life will never be the same but we are infinitely grateful to have had him for the time we did. He is survived by many people he loved very well. Dwayne Wentworth, Son. Debbie Barb-Slemons, Daughter. Bonnie Stine, Fiance. Grand Children, Cristina Gourri, Ariel Holstrom, Kimberly McFry, Britany Penn, Elizabeth Penn, Andy Slemons, Ashley Slemons, Derek Wentworth, Adam Wentworth. And numerous Great Grandchildren, dear friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by Mary Bird and, his brother, Bob Bird. We know he is with our beloved who passed before. A Celebration of Life will be on his Birthday, March 27th at 3pm at the home of Debbie Barb-Slemons. All who knew this incredible man are welcome to attend and share their love. Contact Ponger-Kays-Grady funeral home for location. C om m un it y Obituar ies James D. Blitch, age 83, passed away Monday February 23, 2015 in Arcadia, FL. He was born to the late Albert Sydney Blitch and Edith A. Robison Blitch on July 12, 1931 in Pelham, GA. He moved to Miami, FL with his family as a young man, after retiring him and his wife, Joyce made Arcadia their final home in 1997. Jim was of the Methodist faith and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Arcadia. Jim was a very kind, giving and loving man, whom will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He graduated from Jackson High School in Miami, FL. class of 1949. He was very athletic playing football, baseball, basketball and ran track. Never Waste A Minute March 03, 2015 The next few hours dragged on. Family members began to come in. At that hospital they have a ICU family waiting room. We began to gather there. Everyone wanted to see him. So many loved ones just wanted to let him know that they were there. At first they told us that he could probably hear us so they wanted us to talk to him and tell him we were there. So we took turns rubbing his arms or legs and letting him know that we were there and loved him. His hands seemed swollen and they were tied down. I’m sure that was for his own good. So with that little hope, we continued to take turns going in to talk and assure him. Then it came time for the first blood test. It had been 3 hours and they would now see about any changes in his condition. The blood work would let us know if his organs were working. The test came back. Well, it was bad. The kidneys and the liver enzymes were getting worse. Urine output was still there, but was slow. The test, not good. We were getting that devastating feeling again. Hope was hard to find. You know you think you want to be by yourself when this kind of thing happens, but you really don’t. I just kept thinking about how our grandchildren and daughter-in-law were going to live without him. How we were going to live without him. Visions were coming to me as I sat staring at the walls. I had even told our oldest grandson, who lives in Wyoming, to hold off. I couldn’t tell him, but I was afraid he would have to come for something even worse. I can’t even say it today. I can’t even type the words. But I told him to just wait until we knew more. Thank God for family and friends. They would keep us talking and get our minds off such thoughts. They had a chapel in this hospital. Several times we would go down and sit and kneel and plead with God to intervene. The bargaining, the promises. Anything God, anything. Just don’t let our son die. Please. If a group of people gather together for more than five minutes, someone’s going to ask, “Where do y’all want to eat?” At least that’s what happens when I’m in the group. Yeah, I’m not going to kid you, I like to eat. And yes, I’m a little more “fluffy” than I should be. I could diet, but I have no willpower. I could exercise, but I have no time. (And to prove that point, I’m writing this column right after work and just before church… while munching on a handful of Cheez Its.) There are some foods that you can pick at and eat with a fork and knife, looking all prim and proper. You can twirl your spaghetti into mouthful-sized globs. A butter knife works well to herd wayward peas onto your fork. That’s all fine and dandy… and then along comes corn on the cob. If you’re going to eat an ear of corn you’d better roll up your sleeves, get some more napkins and have a toothpick handy. There’s just no way to look elegant with butter dripping off your elbows, an oil slick around your mouth and enough stuff between your teeth to feed a cow. Pretty, it’s not. That’s why they don’t serve corn on the cob at fancy restaurants. Although they do serve swamp cabbage - more haughtily known as Hearts of Palm. It sounds so beautiful. Maybe they could give corn a fancy name and it could come to dinner too. The waiter could bring an ear to your table, slice the kernels from the cob onto your plate and christen it Shaved Corn. Quite appealing. Ribs are not an ideal choice to watch someone eat either. Same scenario as corn, but with barbecue sauce gliding down your forearm instead of butter. You know, if you’re dating someone and you really want to get to know them, take them out to dinner for ribs and corn. Does she poke around at the food and attempt to cut the meat from the bone? Get real, girl! Life’s too short to worry about where the wet naps are. It seems like every time you turn on the television there’s a commercial trying to sell you something to prepare food with. There are slicers and dicers, juicers and mixers, rotisseries and convection units galore. By the way, I’m a sucker for new gadgets of any kind. Which is exactly why I’m not allowed to watch infomercials and have access to a credit card. I do own a bread machine, a food processor and a dehydrator, to name a few kitchen toys. I am also the proud owner of the Pancake Puff maker. It’s a small cast iron cooker that holds seven “puffs”. You heat it up on the stovetop, pour a little pancake mix in each of the containers, let them get almost done and then flip them onto the other side. What you end up with is a semi-round pancake. Our son thinks they’re pretty cool. I mean, you really can’t beat a handheld pancake, right? It’s kind of time consuming, but it’s not like I’m making breakfast for the Waltons. Whatever your food preference, it’s always better when shared with good people. The best steak I’ve ever had didn’t come from a restaurant, my husband grilled it and we sat with friends at our home. It just doesn’t get any better than that. Gee, I sound like a commercial for Angus beef, or something. Why not grill up some burgers for dinner tonight? The kids will enjoy letting the ketchup slide down to their elbows, trust me. YARD SALES EMAIL CLASSIFIEDS TO: [email protected] ADD A PICTURE FOR $15 3 Day yard sale.
