Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy
name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as
it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And
forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil; for thine is the kingdom, and
the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Call to Worship (Responsively)
from Psalm 51
Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of
your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.
For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night.
Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is
evil in your sight. You will be proved right in what you say, and
your judgment against me is just.
For I was born a sinner- yes, from the moment my mother conceived.
But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom
even there.
Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be
whiter than snow.
Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me- now let
me rejoice.
Don't keep looking at my sins. Remove the stain of my guilt.
Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit in me.
Do not banish me from your presence, and don't take your Holy Spirit
from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to
obey you.
Opening Hymn
UM Hymnal, 267
“O Love, How Deep”
The Invocation (Together)
Lord, we come before you to lift your name on high in praise.
We ask for your mercy and forgiveness as we strive to do our
best to follow you, but fall short. Lord, thank you for the new
and old friends we are among, and may your spirit rest on
each of us as we worship you today. Amen.
Passing the Peace
The Peace of the Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Let us greet our neighbors and extend God’s peace to each other.

The Scripture Lessons
Jeremiah 31:31-34 (NIV)
"The days are coming," declares the Lord, "when I will make a new
covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will
not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by
the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to them," declares the Lord. "This is the covenant
I will make with the people of Israel after that time," declares the Lord. "I
will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their
God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, Know the Lord, because they will all know me, from
the least of them to the greatest," declares the Lord. "For I will forgive their
wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
John 12:20-33 (NIV)
Now there were some Greeks among those who went up to worship at
the festival. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, with
a request. "Sir," they said, "we would like to see Jesus." Philip went to tell
Andrew; Andrew and Philip in turn told Jesus. Jesus replied, "The hour has
come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a
kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed.
But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose
it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal
life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also
will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me. "Now my soul is
troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour'? No, it was
for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!" Then
a voice came from heaven, "I have glorified it, and will glorify it again."
The crowd that was there and heard it said it had thundered; others said
an angel had spoken to him. Jesus said, "This voice was for your benefit,
not mine. Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of
this world will be driven out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth,
will draw all people to myself." He said this to show the kind of death he
was going to die.

upper floor of the education wing. We are grateful to the staff and
volunteers that help us provide a nursery each week.
NURSERY HELP NEEDED - Our Safe Sanctuary Policy requires that there
must be two unrelated adults who are Safe Sanctuary trained present
during nursery. We are unable to open the Nursery during the 8:30 Café

helping out with the Nursery, please contact the Church office for more
information.

FAITH SHARING
HAS GOD BLESSED YOU? - When God answers our prayers, or provides
healing, or helps us find a job or get a promotion; when God has touched
our lives – we have a responsibility to tell others what God has done. This is
a great way to start a conversation about our faith with those who know us.
Tell them how you feel about being touched by God, or how God has
answered your prayers.
LOOK AROUND YOU - Do you see anyone that you do not know? No need
to embarrass them, or embarrass yourself by asking "Are you new?"
Instead, just stick out your hand and introduce yourself. Then enjoy a
pleasant conversation of getting to know each other. In time you'll discover
if they are long lost members, or here for the first time. Either way, you get
to make a new friend. Thank you for being one of the friendliest and most
caring congregations around.
PLEASE INVITE YOUR FRIENDS - It is the simplest and most effective way
to share Christ with others: just invite your friends to church with you. Most
people who grew up as Christians and who aren't in a church say they just
haven't found a church they like, and because no one has invited them.
Most people if you ask, will say yes to an invitation. Just ask them to come
to church for a special event, or special Sunday, or to hear a sermon you
think will help them.
ADMINISTRATION
NOTARY PUBLIC - The church office provides free Notary Public service to
all church members.
PRAYER LIST - Please take a moment and look at the bulletin prayer list, if
you have information regarding anyone on the list, please call Karen in the
church office so that she can update the list. Thanks!
WE RECYCLE - Please recycle your old bulletins and inserts in the wicker
basket in the Narthex.
