Ma’ot Hittim. Ma’ot Hittim (literally, money for wheat) is given to poor people to

…A LA TABLE DE CHABBAT
"Ceci est la règle du sacrifice expiatoire: à l'endroit où est immolé
l'holocauste,
là
sera
immolé
l'expiatoire,
devant
l'Eternel." (Lévitique, 6, 18)
Parmi les différents sacrifices dont nous entretient encore cette SIDRA , relevons
l'offrande qui est présentée par celui qui a commis un péché.
Lorsqu'une telle personne voudra se libérer totalement de sa faute, après avoir fait
pénitence et réparé le mal occasionné par elle, il lui faudra encore, pour tirer un trait
final sur son péché et l'effacer complètement, offrir à l'Eternel un sacrifice
expiatoire appelé 'HATAT .
A propos de cette offrande, la Torah précise qu'elle sera présentée à l'Eternel au
même endroit de l'autel où, habituellement, est offert le OLA,l'holocauste, ce
sacrifice destiné à être complètement brûlé en l'honneur de l'Eternel. Une précision
identique est donnée également un peu plus loin, à propos du ACHAM(sacrifice
expiatoire ) qui, lui aussi, est apporté par celui qui veut se faire pardonner un délit.
Pourquoi, pour ces deux sortes de sacrifices, la Torah a-t-elle tenu à nous apporter
une telle indication ?
Mettons-nous un instant à la place de l'homme quia commis une faute et qui est prêt
à tout faire pour la réparer Voilà qu'il lui faut encore se présenter au Temple et
offrir à Dieu un sacrifice.
Or, une telle offrande se faisait en public.
Aussi la Torah n'a-t-elle pas voulu que tous les fidèles ou les curieux assemblés là
puissent se rendre compte qu'une personne donnée était en train d'offrir à Dieu un
sacrifice pour se faire pardonner une faute. Sinon, ç'aurait été infliger au pénitent
repenti un affront et une honte qui l'auraient marqué à tout jamais et l'auraient,
éventuellement, empêché une autre fois de faire de nouveau pénitence.
C'est pourquoi, en lui faisant apporter son sacrifice à l'endroit où l'on offrait
habituellement le OLA, la Torah a empêché qu'on puisse reconnaître la nature de
son sacrifice et lui a donc épargné une humiliation inutile, Mais de plus, elle a tenu
à nous faire comprendre que la pénitence était affaire privée - entre l'homme et Dieu
- que les péchés n'avaient pas à être divulgués ni les pécheurs à être marqués
publiquement.
Et cette façon de faire ne pouvait que faciliter le retour vers Dieu et la véritable
pénitence.

‫ואפשר לבאר‪ ,‬בהקדים דברי המדרש על הפסוק כאן‪" ,‬היא העולה ‪ -‬שהקריבו ישראל במדבר"‪.‬‬
‫ועוד יש להקדים‪ ,‬שאמרו בגמרא‪ ,‬עולת ישראל במדבר לא היתה טעונה הפשט וניתוח ככל עולה‪.‬‬
‫ונמצא א"כ‪ ,‬שבאותה עולה שהיתה במדבר לא היה לכהנים חלק כלל‪ ,‬שהרי בשאר קרבנות יש להם‬
‫חזה ושוק‪ ,‬ובעולה יש להם את העור‪ ,‬אבל כאן לא היה להם אפילו עור‪.‬‬
‫וזהו ביאור הרש"י‪" ,‬אין צו אלא לשון זירוז מיד ולדורות"‪ ,‬וא"כ בא לזרז גם על עולה זו שהקריבו‬
‫עתה‪ ,‬ולכן "אמר ר' שמעון‪ ,‬וביותר צריך לזרז במקום יש בו חסרון כיס"‪ ,‬שהרי בשאר קרבנות אין‬
‫חשש שיפגלו הכהנים‪ ,‬מפני שאם יפגלו‪ ,‬הרי שלא יקבלו את חלקם באותו קרבן‪ ,‬אבל בעולת המדבר‬
‫שהוקרבה כליל ויש להם חסרון כיס‪ ,‬צריכים הכהנים זירוז יותר‪ ,‬שלא יפגלו חלילה‪...‬‬
‫ועוד אפשר לבאר ‪ ,‬בהקדים הגמרא במסכת מנחות (ק "י)‪" ,‬אמר רק יצחק‪ ,‬מאי דכתיב זאת תורת‬
‫החטאת‪ ,‬וזאת תורת האשם‪ ,‬כל העוסק בתורת חטאת כאילו הקריב חטאת‪ ,‬וכל העוסק בתורת אשם‬
‫כאילו הקריב אשם"‪.‬‬
‫וזהו ביאור הרש"י‪" ,‬אין צו אלא לשון זירוז מיד ולדורות"‪ ,‬מיד‪ ,‬כשבית המקדש קיים‪ ,‬ועני שאין ידו‬
‫משגת להקריב קרבן‪ ,‬צריך ללמוד תורה תמורת הקרבן‪ ,‬ולדורות‪ ,‬כשבית המקדש חרב בעוונותינו‪,‬‬
‫ילמדו כולם תורה ויתכפר להם‪" .‬אמר ר' שמעון‪ ,‬וביותר צריך לזרז במקום שיש בו חסרון כיס"‪,‬‬
‫בעני‪ ,‬שאין ידו משגת להקריב קרבן‪ ,‬וצריך לזרזו שלכל הפחות ילמד תורה חלף הקרבת הקרבן‪...‬‬

‫את חלקם‪ ,‬ויהיה להם חסרון כיס‪ ,‬ועל כן צריך לזרזם‪...‬‬

‫וביארו שם‪ ,‬שהמצווה ועושה יש לו יצר הרע ביותר‪ ,‬כדי להפריעו ממצוותיו‪ ,‬ובזמן שמתגבר על‬
‫יצרו‪ ,‬שכרו גדול ממי שאינו מצווה‪ ,‬שאין לו יצר הרע שמפריע לו‪.‬‬
‫וזהו ביאור הרש"י‪" ,‬אין צו אלא לשון זירוז"‪ ,‬שצריך לזרז במקום שיש ציווי‪ ,‬מפני שיצר הרע מפריע‬
‫יותר‪...‬‬
‫וכלי חרש אשר תבושל בו ישבר" (ו‪ ,‬כא)‪".‬‬
‫רש"י‪" :‬לפי שהבליעה שבו נעשית נותר"‪.‬‬
‫ויש להקשות‪ ,‬הרי אפשר לחכות מעת לעת עד שיפגם הטעם שנבלע בכלי‪ ,‬ויוכל להמשיך ולבשל בו‪,‬‬
‫ומפני מה צריך לשבור כלי אשר בשלו בו קדשים?ויבואר בהקדם המשנה במסכת אבות (פרק ה')‪,‬‬
‫שלא הסריח בשר הקודש בבית המקדש מעולם‪ .‬ולפ"ז מובן‪ ,‬שהרי הנבלע בכלים לא הסריח גם הוא‬
‫מעולם ולא נפגם טעמו‪ ,‬וגם אם ישאר מעת לעת לא יפגם טעמו‪ ,‬וא"כ נעשה נותר בבישולו השני ואין‬
‫לו תקנה אלא שבירה‬

synagogue about the "New Zionist Vision", which he belongs to, and which is running in the
upcoming World Zionist Organization elections. For more information regarding the voting
procedures please follow the directions below.
1. Click the "Register and Vote!" link at www.MyselfOurIsrael.com
2. Complete the registration page and submit your $5 or $10 registration fee (depending on age),
which goes directly to the World Zionist Organization. It can be paid via credit card, PayPal, or
eCheck.
3. Once registered you will be directed to the voting page. Click the "Vote Now" link.
4. Click the checkbox for "Alliance for New Zionist Vision" and submit your vote.
MSC CALENDAR 5776
Our community calendar for the year 2015/16 – 5776 is in
preparation. It includes Holidays, Hillulot of our Tzadikim, candle
lighting times and weekly Torah portions, Shabbatons, luncheons,
Purim and Hanukah parties and other synagogue events.
We are able to include personal events in the calendar. To remember
a loved one, commemorate an anniversary or a birthday, you can
sponsor a day in the calendar.
●The suggested donation is $18 per name or commemoration.
●To sponsor both the calendar and the Yizkor Book together, the
donation is $26 per name.
●Business ads are accepted.
●An ad for every month of the year is $520 and
●A one month ad is $180.
●The calendar will be mailed to all synagogue members.
●Please send in your information before the
July 1, 2015 deadline.
We are also preparing the yearly Yizkor Book – Book of
Remembrance – distributed during the Holidays. Name and date of

Although a fire descended from heaven upon the Altar, it is a mitzvah to add to it a
humanly produced fire. This is a rule that applies to all areas of life: the gifts of life
are bestowed upon us from Above, yet it is G-d's desire that we add to them the
product of our own initiative.

PRE-EXISTING FLAME
We are forbidden to create a fire during Yom Tov. However, we may carry the light of an
existing flame and use it for cooking purposes on Yom Tov. To light candles, we need an
existing fire such as a 26 hour Yahrtzeit candle or a burning stove, from which we borrow a
fire to light the candles.

The blessings for the candle lighting are:
