JCL Creed We the members of the Junior Classical League, covenant to hand on the torch of classical civilization in the modern world. We believe an acquaintance with the civilization of Greece and Rome will help us understand and appraise this world of today, Which is indebted to the ancient civilization in its government and laws, literature, language and arts. We affirm the JCL experience develops responsibility, fosters brotherhood, promotes enthusiasm, encourages competition, inspires dedication and enriches our total growth. JCL Song Seeking the best, the highest our goal, Working for greatness through glories of old. Searching the realms of the golden past, We follow the Classics’ truths that last. In knowledge, truth, and fellowship, we’re growing every day, The friendly hand of JCL aids in every way. In Rome’s proud steps we’re marching on, With every true colleague. And forever we’ll hold to the Purple and Gold, Of the Junior Classical League. There, under the tutelage of a professional rhetorician, he spent his teenage years learning how to concoct and deliver fictive speeches on often extravagant subjects. In my speech I will give a hint of the fictional universe of declamation, showing the main practice of school education in Roman imperial age. 8:30-9:30 PM Clementine Introduction of the Forum Planning Committee with announcements Susan Chen, FJCL Treasurer Chairman of the Board of Advisors, Generosa Sangco-Jackson CAF President, David Jackson NJCL State Chair, Adam Mize Academic Chairmen, David Jackson and Jessica Ballantine-Bradshaw Projects Chairmen, Catherine Sturgill and Daniel Robie Orals and Costumes Chairmen, Leslie Peebles and Christy Tucker Certamen Chairmen, Geoffrey Revard Facilities Liaison, Silvana Wilbur Financial Director, Aurelia Ogles Registrar, Kristen Kenney Youngblood SCL Advisor, Kyle McGimsey President of the FSCL, Teale Feeler Classics Department Welcome Jim Sickinger, Florida State University Introduction of Special Presentation Generosa Sangco-Jackson, CAF Vice President FSCL Address Teale Feeler, FSCL President Candidate Speeches* Brian Nyffenegger, FJCL Parliamentarian Roll Call of Chapters Kendall Schmidt, FJCL Corresponding Secretary Daniel Griessler, FJCL Technology Coordinator National Latin Convention Adam Mize, NJCL State Chair Recognition of New Teachers/Chapters David Jackson, CAF President Spirit Awards Presentation Zachary Bessette, FJCL Vice President Closing Remarks Sara Meadow, FJCL Historian Adjournment Aman Kabeer, FJCL President *N.B.
