National Manager, Major and Corporate Gifts Habitat for Humanity Canada Position Type: Full Time Permanent Date Ad Posted: March 23, 2015 Territory: Canada Application Deadline: April 13, 2015, 4PM ET Location(s): Toronto, ON Years Experience: 7+ THE OPPORTUNITY As a member of the Habitat for Humanity Canada Resource Development team, the National Manager, Major and Corporate Gifts’ primary objective is to achieve annual fundraising targets through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of national gifts from new and existing corporate partners and individuals. This is a full-time permanent position based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As a key member of Habitat for Humanity Canada’s Resource Development team, your major functions will be to: Achieve personal and team fundraising targets and associated KPIs. Manage, grow and steward a portfolio of national donors that includes corporate partners, foundations and individuals; develop and execute recognition and stewardship plans for all national donors. Research, identify, cultivate and solicit prospective national donors (major and corporate). Collaborate with the Resource Development team to ensure proper clearance and strategy for approach. Develop, propose, implement and evaluate individual annual strategic plan in line with established fundraising targets, associated KPIs, team plan and strategic organizational objectives. Design and implement effective solicitation and stewardship strategies, including solicitation and stewardship plans, briefing materials, cases for support, proposals, presentations, and gift agreements. In addition to serving as the primary relationship manager for your portfolio of donors, grow a network of effective interpersonal relationships with national and local staff, volunteers, affiliates and other stakeholders to achieve shared fundraising objectives. Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to cultivate and solicit donors for association-wide priorities. Effectively and accurately communicate and align Habitat for Humanity Canada’s mission, values and fundraising priorities with the interests and strategic objectives of national donors, always representing Habitat for Humanity Canada in a highly ethical and confidential manner. Conduct presentations and lead meetings with various internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, donors, prospective donors, affiliates, volunteers, team members, the leadership team and board members. Lead and be a contributing member of cross-functional teams. Work with teams to build and execute various projects including, but not limited to, cause marketing initiatives, collateral materials, advertising and media campaigns, donor development strategies, national programs and other resources. At the direction and request of the National Director, Major and Corporate Gifts, provide complete and comprehensive reports. Maintain up-to-date and accurate donor and prospect profiles and records of contact. Continuously ensure that the organization’s donor database management system (Raiser’s Edge) is reflective of all fundraising activities. From time to time, participate in professional development opportunities and attend key charitable and donor-related events outside of regular office hours. QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years of national donor (major and corporate) fundraising experience or related experience in sales, business development or corporate account relations with proven results. Willingness to learn and knowledge of best practices in major gift fundraising and corporate partnerships. University degree in relevant field or demonstrated equivalent working experience. Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using Raiser’s Edge CRM software an asset. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire confidence and trust amongst all stakeholders including , but not limited to, donors, affiliates, volunteers, board members, leadership team members and colleagues, acting ethically and responsibly in all interactions. Ability to think strategically and manage competing priorities in a high-volume and results-oriented environment; demonstrated resourcefulness and independence, but comfortable working within the framework of an integrated development program and team-oriented environment. Possess expert communication skills – written, oral and presentation including well developed networking ability. Superior listening skills with an ability to translate the concerns and interests of national donors into attractive opportunities for investment in Habitat for Humanity Canada’s programs and priorities. Interest in and dedication to Habitat for Humanity Canada’s mission, with ability to passionately articulate key messages and demonstrate an understanding of the organization’s work. Excellent organization, planning and time management skills and exacting attention to detail. Behaves in a manner that fosters a positive atmosphere throughout the organization; consistently demonstrates a commitment to teamwork, hard work, professionalism and openness. Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends as required. A valid driver’s license and use of a reliable vehicle; a valid passport and ability to travel as required.
