We extend an invitation to teachers and students to attend this award winning agriculture education program. Aggie Days is an excellent opportunity for students in grades 1 through 6 to learn more about Alberta's agricultural industry from the experts. Agriculture is Canada's leading industry, employing 1/3 of our work force. It is important for students to have some understanding of farming and how it impacts their daily life, including where their food comes from. Displays and interactive activities presented by industry organizations and volunteers are hosted by the Agriculture Education Committee, and are designed to help your students learn more about Alberta's agricultural and historical legacy. Some of the curriculum aligned learning centers include: COW MILKING LLAMA INDUSTRY BEEF PRODUCTION CROP SCIENCE FOOD SAFETY EQUINE PRESENTATIONS HISORY - INDIAN VILLAGE WATER CONSERVATION EGG MARKETING HANDS ON VETERINARY HONEY PRODUCTION LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION GRAIN FARMING SUSTAINABILITY ROPE MAKING PLANT NUTRIENTS Pre-registration is mandatory for all students including home-schooled students. We encourage teachers interested in bringing classes to this annual agriculture education event to go to www.calgarystampede.com/aggiedays to register. Registration can be done online or applications can be downloaded and faxed to (403-261-0495). Due to the high demand of the Aggie Days program we are not able to offer it to Kindergarten students. We hope that Kindergarten students will have an opportunity to visit Aggie Days when they get into the elementary grades or on the weekend with their families. Applications are processed on a first come - first served basis and there is a daily maximum number of students allowed. Aggie Days exhibits will be closed each day between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm for lunch, all classes in attendance will be offered a rodeo presentation in the Stampede Corral during the lunch hour. We encourage participants not to leave the exhibit hall prior to 11:45 am.
