The Liszt-Garrison Festival and Competition is a performance-inspiring experience, which offers
all participants the opportunity of meeting and listening to artists of renown during the festival events.
Contestants are cherished and celebrated regardless of the competition results.We trust the contributions of these young musicians will continue to inspire and influence the world community guided
by the tenets of Franz Liszt’s motto ‘Génie oblige!’ — ‘Talent carries obligations!’
Inaugurated in 2005, the festival/competition made its home at Notre Dame of Maryland University
since 2006 where it has been held biennially since 2007, co-sponsored by Music at Notre Dame
Concert Series, directed by Dr. Ernest Ragogini. Tax-deductible contributions are most appreciated.
