Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing day to day operations within the Testing Center which includes supervising
hourly personnel, communicating with faculty, maintaining a safe and secure testing environment, and
administering testing services for students and members of the community. Facilitates placement testing,
departmental, online/hybrid, contracted/high stakes certification, and professionally proctored exams. The
Academic Testing Associate is also responsible for providing administrative support for the Testing Center
Director and External/ Dual Enrollment Testing Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Provide high-quality customer service, test score summaries, and testing support for diverse
populations of full-time and adjunct faculty, college administrators, students, paid customers, and
visitors.
2. Administer and proctor tests: placement, departmental make-up, online/hybrid, contracted/high
stakes certification, and professionally proctored exams.
3. Follow high-stakes testing policies, procedures and protocols in order to maintain an assessment
environment which is safe, secure, and compliant with internal/external testing audits.
4. Provide administrative support for the Director of Testing and External/ Dual Enrollment Testing
Coordinator.
5. Serve as an auxiliary testing operator (requiring ongoing certification) for high-stakes fee-based
exams including external (non-FCC) higher education academic testing, FCC fee-based
certification tests, Industry Certifications, Technical Certifications, IT Certifications, Pearson
VUE, ETS, ATI, CLEP, DSST/Dantes, CASTLE, and ESCO tests.
6. Provide technology troubleshooting during testing (Blackboard, browser, MSOffice, database,
server, software), coordinate IT Service Desk projects, and ensure basic technical support for
students, faculty, and external clients.
7. Assist with managing and maintaining Accuplacer, Peoplesoft, and other departmental databases.
8. Communicate departmental information to adjunct and full-time faculty.
9. Assist with training, scheduling, and supervising hourly staff.
10. Create and oversee purchase orders, budget transfers, vendor services, and weekly deposits to
cashiers.
11. Serve in a confidential capacity regarding classified student, instructor, and vendor information.
12. Complete departmental paperwork, data analysis reports, and handouts needed for center activities.

13. Acquire ongoing appropriate job-related testing, technical, and financial training.
14. Serve as departmental liaison with the Services for Students with Disabilities Office.
15. Provide specialized support for English Language Learners, ASL users, veterans, and students with
accommodations.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
2. Administrative support, customer service, and computer troubleshooting experience.
Desired Qualifications:
1. Bilingual language skills.
2. Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
3. Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency with web application, MS Office (Word, Excel,
Ppt.), Blackboard, and Student Information System (Peoplesoft or Banner).
4. Demonstrated ability to use varying styles, approaches, skills and techniques that reflect an
understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
5. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work under pressure, and follow a flexible
schedule.
6. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and precisely follow mission-critical
procedures.
7. Previous college or university work experience.
8. Experience proctoring and administering tests in a professional setting.
