Y11 Celebration Breakfast In recognition of the continued hard work of
Y11 students as they prepare for their GCSEs, a celebration breakfast was
held before the Easter Holiday. Invitations were given to 69 students, the
majority of whom, remarkably, managed to get out of bed extra early to enjoy
pastries and fruit with Mr Shapland and the Senior Leadership Team. We
know that there are many Y11 students working extremely hard, as well as
those who received invitations, and we will continue to recognise this through
the i-card award and other celebratory events. Keep it up Y11!
Y10 will be getting their marked mock exams
back in 2 weeks but should currently be doing
the 'green pen' analysis of their Easter
Homework past papers. Marks schemes are
now on SMHW. They are working through past
papers in lessons now as part of their revision
programme in the run up to their exams after
Half Term.

Easter Sports Festival in Holland
During the break, 24 Y9 students
travelled to Holland to take part in a
football and netball Sports Festival with
other English schools. The girls netball
team won the U15 competition and
brought another trophy home to
Ashlyns. The boys football team came
3rd in their U15 competition narrowly
losing to the eventual winners of the
tournament. Well done from Miss
Holmes, Mr Preston and Mr Goodchild
to all students who came on the trip; a
great time was had by all.
Ashlyns at the Paris Marathon Ashlyns parent
Russell Green stands proudly with his medal and
Ashlyns tie having completed the marathon in
5 hours and 33 minutes – a huge achievement in
hot and polluted conditions. He has raised over
£500 for our Sports Hall - if you were waiting to
donate until after the race, here is the link!

really welcoming for
newcomers to the school.

3.30 to 5.45 pm on Thursday
18 June.
Please contact Mrs Diane
