BUSINESS ARISING
3.1 AUSSIE TITLES REVIEWS
Congratulations to Jamie Butterfield, the Strikers and Henley on the Silver Medal in the U23 Women, The Glenelg
Masters who won Bronze and the Henley Mackdogs who made it through to the Quarter Finals in the Open Men.
Buttsy extended his thanks for the comminatory of everyone on the beach and socially, it was a great experience for
everyone involved.

3.2 A.G.M - 4 AUGUST 7.30pm
Rae will create and circulate a standard template for the HOF and LM Nominations so that all submissions capture the
same information to make it easier for the committee to assess the nominations fairly.
All positions on the Management Committee are open for nominations:

EVENT CALENDER
A very rough draft of carnival dates is attached.

Brakey was approached by the Ski Paddlers about the possibility of participating and utilising our course next
season. Discussions to continue.
3.4
ANNUAL AWARDS AND PRESENTATION DINNER
Aaron Tannahill has agreed to MC the event.
The theme was confirmed as Masquerade. Cost of tickets will
be $58/person including 2 course meal, DJ and Photobooth.
The online tickets sales will be set up on the ASRLSA website and will be posted on to the Facebook page.
Maximum capacity is 130.
We need to get all perpetual trophies’ returned for engraving. Rae to email the relevant clubs directly. Trophy’s
to be returned by the next Committee Meeting.
As there is no plans for a meeting next month,
details for the dinner.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT REPORT
Aaron presented his findings from his Youth Development Survey. He will be sending out an electronic survey
next week for presentation at the July meeting. Aaron also reminded everyone that they can
purchase copies of footage from the Aussies which are available on-line.
Glenelg will be doing a ‘Come Try’ this Saturday and we encourage all clubs to hold a come try day themselves
to encourage their younger and junior members to have a go on the Ergos or on the water. Enlist some of your
senior rowers to act as mentors.
Aaron will look at the possibility of introducing a Youth training session once a month. More details to come.

OTHER BUSINESS
5.1
It was discussed that the best forum for the launch of the Ray Robert’s History Preservation Project as a resource
for all clubs would be the AGM as most clubs will be represented at that meeting. We may look at emailing an
order form out with the AGM Agenda so clubs can pre-order a copy and pay on the night.
We need to decide the best way to administer this project going forward. The general consensus was for State
Centre to store it being the central body for the State.

Nathan Perry will be coming to SA again for another workshop in the 2 or 3 week of August He is open to

suggestions on the topic and format. Any suggestions from the Boat Captains to be sent to the Secretary by 2
June. June.

Does anyone know where the Sweep of the Year trophy is, it has gone missing.

Can we get all of the S.A Australian Titles achievements posted onto the ASRLSA website? Bristles can confirm
all medals and Rae will follow up with Steve Matters to create a new section on the website.

Vanessa Hodson suggested we approach sponsors to introduce small prizes at each carnival to encourage more
participation. Also looking at the Coolangatta Gold off season activities, can we introduce an endurance event
in October? We had the Island Marathon at Port Elliott last October.
