Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Child Protection Specialist, contributes to project design planning, monitoring, and evaluation
of programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting for Child Protection and Participation programme
including team work and capacity building.

Supports the child protection programme and to ensure harmonised and coherent implementation of the National
Child Protection Strategy.

Studies the inter-agency assessment on vulnerable children in post-war Iraq, especially the situation of children.
To assess the needs, map out the risks, to review the work previously done in the province, and identify the
strengths of already-existing mechanisms of intervention.

Develops a plan of action with priorities, with short and medium term objectives. Set time frames and indicators
to periodically monitor and evaluate the progress. To allocate appropriate budget and supply estimates.

Works closely and empower local authorities to produce strategies to enable comprehensive child protection
systems.

Coordinates work with other Chiefs of Sections to build the capacity of local authorities, social workers,
teachers, youth and other relevant actors on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and other related
instruments, its implementation and the importance of child protection.

Coordinates work with NGOs by sharing information and experiences. In addition, to create partnerships to
implement different community projects, in line with the strategies set by the section.

Creates methods of permanent participation and consultation for the different sectors of the society such as
children, parents, teachers, religious leaders, lawyers, doctors, etc. Works towards building regional capacity in
child protection.

Proposes initiatives and projects on different CP issues.

Prepares and submit timely progress/status reports for management, board, situation-reports, donors, budget
reviews, programme monitoring, evaluation, and annual reports.

Drafts relevant sections of reports (required for donors, management, annual reports, etc.)
Education: University degree in Social Sciences and related technical field.
Experience: Two years progressively responsible experience in programme design, administration, monitoring and
evaluation or related field.
Language(s): Fluency in English and Arabic required. Knowledge of local working language of the duty station an
asset.
