Cultural Extravaganza: Sponsored by Awtrey PTSA

Calling all Awtrey Vikings! Students can choose to participate in our Cultural Extravaganza by showcasing a
county, visiting the presentations, or both! We will select presenters on a first come, first served basis (and not
having more than three entries for the same country) - we have room for 43 booths!
Requirements for entering a booth: Your country’s information MUST be on a tri-fold poster board. This may
include pictures, information (typed), maps, or any another facts about your country. You may also want to bring items
that can be displayed on the table in front of your exhibit. One of the best features of our Cultural Extravaganza over the
years has been the authentic food that is prepared so visitors can sample food from all over the world. Exhibits will be
judged and the winning entries will win cash prizes. Entries will be judged on the following criteria: appearance/visuals,
cultural information/artifacts, indigenous food, sensory effects (music or videos), and an oral presentation no longer than
two minutes.
Prizes: If you enter a country in the Cultural Extravaganza you will have the opportunity to win $75.00 (first place),
$50.00 (second place), or $25.00 (third place) at the conclusion of the judging. If you attend the Cultural Extravaganza
and use the provided form to list fun facts about three different countries you will be entered in a drawing to win a gift
certificate.
How do I enter? Please fill out the form at the bottom of the page. You must have a phone number where your
parents/guardians can be reached during the day. Make sure you list the country you wish to enter. Entries are on a first
come, first served basis. To limit repetitiveness, only three entries per country will be allowed (for example: three booths
set up for Mexico).
