Primary Purpose
Summary
The General Manager Finance will be responsible for executing the financial function at
Benson Radiology. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and as required, the
Managing Partner, and operates as part of the General Management Team.
The role provides operational financial leadership and hands on implementation around the
key outcome areas of technical expertise, people development, capacity, motivation and
management, organisational culture, relationship management, systems practices and
processes.
The position will also provide sound advice, thorough analysis and accurate financial
administration, along with financial guidance on legal obligations, regulations and the
Partnership Agreement.

Key Result Areas
Financial positioning
Assist in the provision and implementation of financial, investment and commercial advice in
the achievement of the organisation’s Strategic Plan and financial goals.
Assist in the maximisation of the financial position of the organisation in accordance with
Partnership expectations.
Technical expertise
Lead, manage, analyse and report on financial performance, activities, expenditure, cash
flow and other financial accountabilities.
Develop, manage and support financial management systems and processes.
Develop and implement budget and forecasting modelling systems and financial reporting
Develop and implement risk analysis and mitigation plans to assist in the identification and
minimisation of business and financial risk.
Ensure all financial, accounting, superannuation and budget practices, reports and records
are developed in accordance with relevant legislative requirements.

People development, capacity, motivation and management
Manage, motivate and support the Finance & Administration Team in delivering the finance
function’s desired outcomes.
Build a shared understanding of responsibility and accountability throughout the finance
function
Ensure staff capability is continually developed to achieve in line with the financial and
strategic plans outcomes.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations.
Organisational culture
Assist with the development of a high performing and constructive culture where staff
understand the vision, values, and strategy of Benson Radiology. Support the partners and
management in their efforts to keep staff motivated, engaged, and focused on delivering the
best service to patients and referrers.
Customer relationship management
Liaise with and engage a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
Lead and support the team in revolutionising and executing service delivery.
Establish effective relationships, and negotiate with external service providers in
strengthening continued financial support.
Systems practices and processes
Provide for the safety and wellbeing of all employees and stakeholders
Oversee the development and maintenance of policies and quality management systems,
relating to finance, OH&S, superannuation, insurance, accounts payable and receivable,
payroll and office administration.
Ensure there is ongoing development of continuous improvement strategies.

Person Specification
Qualifications and experience

Experience at a senior level with proven expertise in contemporary financial
management systems and practices [essential]

Experience in delivering financial outcomes through understanding the relevance of
strategic and operational plans and initiatives [essential]

Tertiary qualifications in accounting, economics or commerce [essential]

CA/CPA accreditation [essential]

Experience at aligning financial business plans, structure and culture [essential]

Highly developed financial, analysis, investment and commercial performance
knowledge, skills and experience [essential]

Strengths in developing, analysing and managing budgets, forecasting and modelling,
financial risk, systems and reporting [essential]

Understanding of the health/medical field [desirable]


Ability to lead and manage the finance and administration functions, and be inclusive
with respect to the wider workforce.

Ability to formulate, implement and provide financial advice and deliver business
outcomes consistent with the strategic direction of the organisation.

