CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:
Please read all instructions carefully before beginning. ¼”
seam allowance is included in measurements and all strips
are cut across the width of the fabric unless noted otherwise. Label pieces and keep together until ready to sew.
A.Pattern #24364 – BEI1 (large floral):
1. Cut (4) 71/2" x 72" (lengthwise) strips for
Outer Border..
2. Cut (3) 51/4" squares, then cut in half
diagonally twice to make (12) triangles.
B.Pattern #24370 – LTBEI1 (leaf dot):
1. Cut (36) 47/8" squares.
2. Cut (36) 41/2" squares.
C.Pattern #24371 – BLU (texture):
1. Cut (3) 51/4" squares, then cut in half
diagonally twice to make (12) triangles.
2. Cut (4) 47/8" squares.
3. Cut (4) 21/2" squares.
4. Cut (6) 11/2" strips for Inner Border. Sew strips
together end-to-end. Reserve for Inner Border.
5. Cut (8) 21/2" strips for binding.
D.Pattern #24365 – BLU1 (stripe):
1. Cut (12) 21/2" x 161/2" strips, fussy cut to center
the floral stripe.
E.Pattern #24367 – DKBLU1, #24368 – DKBLU1,
#24369 – DKBLU1, #24370 – DKBLU1:
1. Cut (8) 47/8" squares of each sku.
2. Cut (3) 51/4" squares of each sku, then cut in
half diagonally twice to make (12) triangles.
F. Pattern #24364 – BRO1, #24366 – BLU1,
#24367 – BRO1, #24368 – MDBLU1,
#24369 – BLU1, #24371 – BRO1,
#24371 – MDBLU1, #24371 – LTBRO1:
1. Cut (3) 51/4" squares of each sku, then cut in
half diagonally twice to make (12) triangles.

PIECING INSTRUCTIONS: Press in the direction of the arrows.
A. Hourglass Units:
1.From the (168) triangles, use only (144). Sew (1)
dark triangle to the left side of (1) light triangle to
make a pieced triangle unit. Make 2.
2.Stitch (2) pieced triangles together to make an

Hourglass unit (Figure 1). Repeat to make
41/2" x 41/2" unfinished.

B. Half-Square-Triangle Units:
1.Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (36) 47/8" B squares
2.Place a marked B square, right sides together, on a 47/8" E square. Sew a 1/4" seam on
each side of the drawn line. Cut on the line, press seam open and trim "dog ears" (Figure
2). Repeat to make (72) Half-Square-Triangle units.
Draw.

Stitch and cut.
Press open.
Trim.
Make 72. 41/2" x 41/2" unfinished.
C. Block Construction:
1.Using Figure 3 as your guide, sew
the pieced units together. Block
should measure 161/2" square
(unfinished). Make 9.
QUILT ASSEMBLY:
Refer to the Quilt Diagram
and photo while assembling.

1.Sew (3) blocks, alternating with
(2) 21/2" x 161/2" D strips to make a block row. Make 3 block rows.
2.Sew (3) 21/2" x 161/2" D strips, alternating with (2) 21/2" C squares to make a sashing row.
Make 2 sashing rows.
3.Stitch the (3) blocks rows, alternating with the (2) sashing rows to complete the quilt center.
4.Inner Border:
a. Cut two lengths from the pieced 11/2" C strips equal to the length of quilt. Sew to
sides of quilt.
b. Cut two lengths from the remainder of the pieced 11/2" C strips equal to the width of
quilt. Sew to top and bottom of quilt.
5.Outer Border: Follow steps for the Inner Border to sew the 71/2" A strips to
the quilt.
A
FINISHING:
1.Prepare backing with a
horizontal seam to
measure 76" square. Press
seam open.
2.Layer quilt top, batting,
and backing. Baste layers
together.
3. Quilt as desired.
4.Trim layers even with
quilt top.
5.Join binding strips with
diagonal seams. Press
seams open. Attach
binding to quilt using
your favorite method.
6.Make a label and sew
to the back of the quilt.
