Bite The Ballot #TakePower 7 April [email protected] YOUTH democracy movement, Bite The Ballot (BTB), is excited to support to Operation Black Vote (OBV) as part of its national eXpress tour across Great Britain, which aims to get more BME people on to the electoral registers. BTB Community Engagement Officers (CEOs) in Nottingham , Coventry and Birmingham will be organising sessions of BTB’s democracy education resources ‘ The Basics ’, training local students and community workers to deliver voter engagement workshops, and inspiring younger citizens to register to vote in some of the highest areas of under-registration in the country. OBV eXpress bus in Old Market Square, Nottingham Michael Sani , BTB co-founder and CEO, welcomed the opportunity, saying: ‘ BTB Community Engagement Officers are looking forward to supporting the tour by sharing their engagement techniques with activists on the ground, and training new ambassadors to deliver peer-to-peer voter engagement activities in these crucial days ahead of the 20 April registration deadline ’. Rachel Armitage, BTB’s Nottingham CEO, said: ‘ The sun has come out in Nottingham today - and so have potential voters. We’ve had a very busy day in Old Market Square, with lots of people registering who weren’t intending to vote in the General Election.
