YOUTH democracy movement, ​
Bite The Ballot (BTB), is excited to support to ​
Operation
Black Vote (OBV) as part of its national eXpress tour across Great Britain, which aims to get
more BME people on to the electoral registers.
BTB Community Engagement Officers (CEOs) in ​
Nottingham​
, ​
Coventry ​
and ​
Birmingham ​
will be
organising sessions of BTB’s democracy education resources ‘​
The Basics​
’, training local students and
community workers to deliver voter engagement workshops, and inspiring younger citizens to ​
register to
vote in some of the highest areas of under-registration in the country.

, BTB co-founder and CEO, welcomed the opportunity, saying: ‘​

Officers are looking forward to supporting the tour by sharing their engagement techniques with activists on
the ground, and training new ambassadors to deliver peer-to-peer voter engagement activities in these
crucial days ahead of the 20 April registration deadline​
’.

The sun has come out in Nottingham today - and so have
potential voters. We’ve had a very busy day in Old Market Square, with lots of people ​
registering who
weren’t intending to vote in the General Election. I’m looking forward to keeping the spirit of the eXpress
tour alive by taking fifty young activists to the launch of the Kenny Report 3, and then training them to
register people in their own communities​
