The Bosmere Medical Practice Spring Newsletter 2015 Patient Survey The Bosmere Medical Practice Patient Participation Group recently undertook a patient survey in the practice and by email. We are pleased to report that the survey showed that 84.6% of patients surveyed would recommend the Practice. The areas of “Appointments” and “Communications” which are closely related again revealed the largest gap between what patients would ideally like and their experiences. There is still work to be done to reduce the number of missed appointments which adds a further strain on available appointments. For full details of the Bosmere Medical Practice survey, please pick up a copy in the Practice or visit our website: www.bosmerepractice.co.uk Keeping us informed if you cannot make your appointment Many thanks to all those patients who telephoned to cancel their appointment when they were unable to get here or simply no longer needed it! It would be fantastic if everyone did this as it is extremely frustrating to know there are patients who have been unable to get an appointment when they wanted it because the clinic or surgery was full. Please be aware that each time a patient fails to attend an appointment it is automatically noted on their clinical records and that patients who continue to do this may be asked to leave the Practice. PLEASE CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT IF YOU NO LONGER NEED IT OR CANNOT ATTEND Contacting the Practice – hectic Monday Mornings! Please be aware that the Practice telephone lines become very busy on a Monday morning with patients who have waited over the weekend trying to make appointments. Named GP for all patients ALL patients have a named accountable GP. If you want to know who yours is please ask at Reception. The named accountable GP’s role will be to take responsibility for the co-ordination of all appropriate services required under the contract and ensure they are delivered to each of their patients where required (based on the clinical judgement of the named accountable GP). The month of May is Action on Stroke Month. Stroke is closer than you think. The Stroke Association work throughout the UK to ensure people make the best recovery. The best way to help prevent a stroke is to eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly and avoid smoking and drinking too much alcohol.
