Working hard
all year round
Thank you John
Many of you will be aware that John Starling has
decided not to stand for re-election to the District
Council at these elections. We would like to thank him
for all the work he has put in as District Councillor for
the last 24 years. Many Horsford (and more recently
Felthorpe) residents will have been grateful for his help.
Veronica Beadle and Virginia Sokalsky will
work all the year round
Planning. A large development is being built in
Horsford despite local opposition. This will need
to be monitored to ensure the plans are adhered
to. On previous developments in Horsford this
has not happened. Veronica and Virginia will be
vigilant & take firm action on these matters.

Exception sites that provide low cost or
affordable housing for people who live in or with
links to our villages (like Crown Hill Horsford &
The Street Felthorpe) can be really positive and
a good way to supply local housing. But schemes
have to have local support and cannot just be
pressed through.
Northern Distributor Route is likely to be
finalised and building started in the south of
Horsford and Felthorpe. There is the potential for
some local routes to see an increase in traffic.
Veronica and Virginia will work to see the needs
of local residents come first.
Norman Lamb says Steve Riley will be a
“first class MP”
Recreation and sports grants and community
facilities have been, and are being improved. Veronica & Virginia - a hardworking local team
Veronica and Virginia will support this, as these
facilities support families and communities.
Lib Dems back Council tax Freeze
Lib Dem Councillors have voted for a Council tax
freeze for Broadland residents for the second
year running.
Speaking at the budget meeting Steve Riley said
it would be wrong to raise tax at a time when
Broadland still has significant money in reserves.
However, more needs to be done to make the
Council more efficient to avoid cuts in services..
On Norfolk County Council the Conservatives
refused to support the budget and the Council
tax freeze
Government Minister Norman Lamb has
strongly endorsed local candidate Steve Riley
to be your new MP. Norman says “As the MP
for the neighbouring constituency of North
Norfolk I have worked closely with Steve on a
number of issues and have seen first-hand just
how incredibly hard he works for people and
communities. “
“Steve Riley has the experience, calibre and
work ethic that a first class MP needs to deliver
for people and our local communities. I have
always been impressed with the way Steve
listens to people before he acts and
understands how to get things done .”
“Steve Riley will be a breath of fresh air in
Parliament for Broadland. His integrity,
accountability, and commitment are second to
none .Steve always puts people first before
party politics and I would urge you strongly to
vote for Steve he really will be the first rate MP
that Broadland needs and residents deserve”
