Seeking to join David and Steve
on Broadland District Council is
local campaigner Vic Morgan. Vic
is a governor of Aylsham High
School and helps manage
Aylsham Heritage Centre. An
author and historian lecturing at
the University of East Anglia, Vic
says “We need to take active steps
to create good, interesting, well-paid
jobs in and around Aylsham .We
need to create a skilled local
workforce. That starts in the town’s
schools.”
David also taught but now devotes
all his time to helping local residents
and the wider community of Norfolk
through his role as deputy leader of
the County Council.
Elections here are a close fight
between the Conservatives and Lib
Dems. Labour are in third place here
and are out of the race.
Steve chairs the Overview and
Scrutiny Committee whose job is to

get the best for those we represent.
The LibDem team want to challenge
the complacency that comes with
long-term one party dominance. ”
THE TEAM THAT WORKS FOR YOU
FACTS about your local
Conservative Candidates in the
Broadland District Council election:
Jo Cottingham:
A complaint was made to the Broadland District
Council Monitoring Officer in 2012 about her
comments relating to the employment of a staff
member heading up a department, prior to it being
disbanded.
The comments were considered to be a possible
breach of the councillor’s code of conduct and an
external investigator was appointed .
The investigator reported back but before the findings
were made known, Mrs Cottingham resigned her
position as district councillor for Aylsham. The
complaint lapsed.
The cost to council taxpayers of the investigation up
to the point of her resignation was £23,000.
Ian Graham
During this last 4 year term of the District Council
Ian Graham, the one remaining Conservative ward
member for Aylsham, has hardly been seen at the
Aylsham Town Council Meeting, or for that matter at
Oulton, Marsham, Blickling, or Burgh & Tuttington
parish council meetings.
3 Votes for 3 Councillors - Make your 3 choices:
Voters of all shades of opinion
are backing Steve Riley to be
the next M.P for Broadland.
They are backing Steve because
they realise it is time we had a
different kind of M.P. Someone
with the ideas and energy to
meet the challenges of the
21st century.
Steve was a Senior industrial
relations negotiator for
many years, and has also
run his own manufacturing
business . He is a current
Broadand District
Councillor and chair of
the important Overview
and Scrutiny
Committee that holds
the council to account. For far too
long residents in Broadland have
been taken for granted or just plain
ignored. We need an M.P. who will
put Broadland first and not just
follow party orders
Steve says “It is no secret that I
have worked closely with Norman
Lamb, an M.P who always
champions his constituency and
local people in North Norfolk. It is
about time Broadland had its own
local champion. A full time hard
working MP that will refuse to take a
second job putting local people first
before party politics here in
Broadland and at Westminster.”
It’s time for change
for the voters of Broadland .
If I am elected the first thing I
will do is to establish better
contact and support for individual residents
and communities.
Broadland is geographically a huge
constituency and the MP’s local office can be
many miles away from residents. I believe it is
essential to set up satellite surgeries in places
such as Aylsham to give better support and
see people face to face. And I would produce
a quarterly newsletter to keep residents better
informed .
I have already pledged to take up a number of
resident’s concerns as an MP . One big issue
is planning. Developers have the right lawfully
to appeal refusal of planning permission but
parish councils and individuals who opposed a
development have no such rights. I will
campaign to change this.
Build a Stronger Economy
We will balance the budget by 2018, protecting the economic recovery and
brining down Britain's debt. We would cut income tax by a further £400 for low
and middle earners, easing the squeeze on household budgets.
Build a Fairer Society
We would guarantee equal care and waiting times for mental health as for
physical health, by increasing spending on the NHS. We would ensure every
child is taught by a qualified teacher and protect spending on nurseries, schools
and colleges.
Pass a Nature Law
We would pass a nature law to protect green spaces, tree, birds and animals,
clean up polluted air rivers and ensure Britain is at the forefront of fighting
climate change.
Only Steve or the Conservative can win here
Steve will always put people
first, be a full time hard working MP(no second job) supporting our communities.
Backing Labour or smaller
parties will just help the
Conservative candidate win
It’s really close in our area so
your vote could make all the
difference.
As MP for the neighbouring constituency
of North Norfolk I have worked closely
with Steve on a number of issues and
have seen first-hand just how incredibly
hard he works for people and
communities.
Steve Riley has the experience, calibre
and work ethic that a first class MP needs
to deliver for people and our local
communities.
I have always been impressed with the
way Steve listens to people before he acts
and understands how to get things done .
Steve will be a breath of fresh air in
Parliament for Broadland and a powerful
voice for communities and residents. His
integrity, accountability, and commitment are second to none .
Steve always puts local people first before
party politics and I would urge you
strongly to vote for Steve he really will be
the first rate full time MP that Broadland
needs and deserves.
