SEW SPECIAL NEWS
May 2013
Spring is here and I am glad for the
warmer weather. It has been a busy
couple of months at Patchwork Plus and
we also have a lot planned for this
summer. We are introducing new
classes and we have lots of new fabric
coming in each day. We are introducing
a new “Start Quilting” class that requires
less of a time commitment. This class is
only 2 weeks instead of the usual 4
weeks and you will be making a table
runner. Because of conflicts, the
Weekender Bag class has been
re-rescheduled for later this summer.
Mother’s Day is quickly approaching.
You will want to check out all of the
coupons that can be used the week of
Mother’s Day. All of our in stock
cabinets are on sale as well as the
machines. BERNINA has a lot of
specials during the week of Mother’s Day
and we have put the Janome machines
on sale as well.
We are offering a great selection of
children’s classes with some new
projects as well. If you have a child or
grandchild that has completed 3rd
grade, they can take one of the Bobbin
Winder classes. If your child has taken
some of our classes in the past years,
than she can take a ZigZagger class.
Our advanced group is the Fashion
Designers. Back by popular demand is
the bus trip to the Quilt Odyssey quilt
show in Hershey, PA. We will have a
special unveiling of Christmas fabric
July 19-20, 2013. All of our new
Christmas fabrics, kits, and samples will
be “unwrapped” that weekend. We will
also have a special Anita Goodesign
trunk show in the shop as well. It is
sure to inspire you to get out that
embroidery machine and start creating.
Patchwork Plus will be taking a chartered bus to the quilt show in
Hershey, PA. We will leave the parking lot at Patchwork Plus at
7:00 am. We will stop at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Woodstock
to pick up people. We will stop for supper at Ryan’s steakhouse
in Chambersburg, PA on the way home. The cost is $67.50 and
that includes the bus trip, the admission ticket, dinner, and
snacks on the bus. You must pre-register with payment by June
1, 2013.

Bernina Guide Classes
We are excited to offer you an expanded level of training for your Bernina sewing machine. These classes are
available at no cost for all new and used Bernina machines purchased from Patchwork Plus. If you have had a guide class
in the past and want to repeat the class, there is a $20.00 fee for each level. A 166 page workbook for all of the machines
is available for $25. Or we can give you a CD of the workbook for $5 and you can print your own copy. Please let us
know before class so that we can have your copy for you. Serger owners will be contacted individually.
Level 1 must be taken before proceeding to the other levels. The only exception will be if you have previously owned a
similar Bernina sewing machine. Bring your machine, all accessories and books, thread, scissors, pen, and paper to
class. Registration is necessary; we will not be calling you for class. A minimum of 3 people must sign up before
the class will be held. After Level 1 and Level 2 are completed, you will be scheduled for embroidery and software classes
if applicable.
All classes are taught by Bernina Certified and trained instructors. Remember, not all sewing machine training is the
same. Our strength is our educational program. We encourage you to take both levels. Fees apply each time you repeat
the class. If your Bernina was purchased elsewhere, call us for pricing (value $20 per hour).
