Literacy Council Training and Activities
For A
New Tutor Training Orientation- Tuesday,
We will be holding our first
ever fundraising event.
March 24th, 5:00-7:45 pm
Training session-Sat, March 28th, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
Both sessions will be held in the Cadillac Library
ART for a Cause
will be
held in October of 2015! This will be an
art show and sale. An event of this kind
was held quite successfully by LOVE INC
about 5 years ago, so we have been
getting some coaching as we plan the
event. All of the art pieces (paintings,
photos, sculptures, jewelry, quilts,
weaving, etc.) will be donated to be
displayed, priced, and available for
purchase with the proceeds helping the
Adult Literacy Council. Some aspects of
this event are still in the planning stages.
We do not know for sure where it will be
held. The date is flexible within the end
of October.
The first information Flyer is being sent
today. I am sending it separate so that
you can print it and give it to others or
post it somewhere.
Help us spread the word!

speakers continues working in the
McBain Library every Monday
afternoon from 1:00 -3:00 PM. We
often have new students arrive. We try
to have 2 tutors there each week.

student log on to Mango. We
encourage you to do that. This is
an internet language instruction
program that we have been given
licensed access to through our
website.
You need to contact Bonnie @

login and password to get started.
When you have used it with your
student , please email Bonnie and
let us know how it is going and

it.

New Space in Cadillac Library!!
All of our literacy materials and supplies are now in
one room at the Cadillac Library. It is officially the
Adult Literacy Room. It is a good space for individual
tutoring with much better access to the books and
supplies you need for tutoring. You are welcome to
sign out anything you need from the room. You may
need to ask for the key for this room at the
circulation desk.
Leave your time sheets in the drawer that indicates
TIME SHEETS on the book shelf in the Literacy
room.
Name tags will also be kept in this room on the small
file cabinet. Try to remember to use them.
