Terms & Conditions
VENUE HIRE
Cafe Birkenhead is exclusively available 7 nights a week, from 7.00pm. Evening functions are based on duration of 5 hours unless otherwise stated. A
surcharge of $350 per hour applies if the venue is required earlier than these given times.
CAPACITY
Cafe Birkenhead can accommodate up to 170 people for a sit down function and up to 200 people for a cocktail function.
A booking of 100 adults minimum is required on Saturday evenings and 80 adults minimum every other evening. This may be altered at the discretion of the
Function Coordinator.
BOOKING DEPOSIT
Your function can be tentatively booked and held for one week. To confirm the booking, a deposit of $1000 is required. The agreed package price will not
change unless otherwise agreed with the Function Coordinator or with the exception of unforeseen government costs i.e. taxes.
This deposit is 75% refundable up to six months prior to the booked date and non-refundable within three months of the date of the function. Any cancellations must be made in writing and the cancellation will become effective from the date it is received in our office.
FINAL NUMBERS & PAYMENT
Final guest numbers are required by 12pm, six working days prior to your function. This will be the minimum number charged on your final invoice and can
be increased but not decreased. Final payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit card and must be paid at least 72 hours prior to the function. All prices
are inclusive of GST, venue hire, staff, catering and linen.
OTHER MEALS
Children are more than welcome at Cafe Birkenhead. We can provide high chairs and offer an extensive range of children’s meals (12 yrs and under) for $25
per child including soft drinks. Meals for additional staff such as photographers can be provided from $25 per person.)
LICENSING LAWS
Cafe Birkenhead is required by law to abide by all Licensing Laws and all staff have attained the Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate. We will not serve
intoxicated guests or those under the age of 18 and proof of age may be required. Cafe Birkenhead’s license extends until 11.30pm Monday to Sunday.
No alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages are permitted outside the front of the cafe at anytime. A security guard is provided for the safety of all our guests for
the duration of the evening.
NOISE
Cafe Birkenhead is located in a residential area. We ask guests to leave quietly via the ramp to Roseby Street at the conclusion of the
function. Under no circumstances are guests to depart via escalators or stairs to the bottom of Roseby Street.
Music is provided by OUR DJ Company Only, Lightning Sounds DJ. Due to the restricted noise levels, live entertainment is subject to the coordinators
discretion
SMOKING
Due to government legislation, there is a no smoking policy indoors at Cafe Birkenhead. Guests are more than welcome to smoke outside.
PROPERTY
Clients are financially liable for any damage sustained to any property in Cafe Birkenhead by their guests or contractors. Management
accepts no responsibility for goods that are lost/stolen/damaged whilst being stored on the property.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY SURCHARGE
An additional 10% surcharge applies to the final invoice if your function is held on a public holiday or across a long weekend.
