PARENT CLASS REPRESENTATIVE SESSION
Thank you to the parents and governor who attended this session on Wednesday and the parents who
passed comments to their class representatives. As always, this was really useful.
 Questions were asked with regards SRE (Sex and Relationships Education). An information
session for parents of children in Y5/6 will be held on Thursday 30 April 2015 at 3.45pm.
Y5 and Y6 staff will lead this and will answer any questions you may have.
 One parent informed us that their child had reported toilet doors do not lock. All have now
been checked and are in working order.
 A query was made with regards to homework being put on the website. We will be launching
our new website and VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) very soon and therefore children will
be given their new log ins. We anticipate homework will be on the VLE class pages each week
by the end of the first half of the Summer Term.
 One parent felt books were not always available on Bug Club. Staff hope to have books for
each child available for the Easter holidays as of next Thursday.
 There is a noted shortage of some reading books. £8000 was spent on new reading books in
March 2012. Sadly many of these have been taken home and not returned. We are
particularly short of Stage 8 & 9. Replacements will be purchased in the Summer Term but this
is quite disappointing. Please, please return books if you have them at home.
 The group discussed whether or not to print Callands on the back of the football shirts but
decided against this primarily as other schools do not do this and it was felt our children
become more identifiable then.
