Renaissance Schools may only open
in newly constructed buildings or
substantially renovated facilities. In
addition, NJEA believes that the
closures and transfers of these
schools to corporate entities were
done improperly and without the
input of stakeholders.

Elementary : Total number of
years in the district.
Secondary: Total number of
years in a subject area taught.
Bumping Rights: You can bump a
member that has less time in the
district or department. You must have
worked in that position before your
current position.
Non-Renewals: Members that do not
have tenure in the district is subjected
to be non-renewed without out any
reason by the district, you are considered “At Will Workers.” Non-Tenure
members do not have bumping rights.
Under State law, your are entitled to

Members your retro Checks are being worked on. The Camden
City School district announced that the checks will be sent out to the
membership no later than June 15, 2015. The checks will be separate
from your pay check. In addition, Contracts Booklets will be delivered
to all members once they have been completed. CEA Leadership along
with the NJEA thank you for your patience .

Riff Letters Due To Come Out
According to the Office of Talent and Labor, Riff notices are going to be issue to
affected members during the first week of
May 2015.
Riffs are handle in the following manner
according to Seniority:
Elementary : Total number of years in the
district.
Secondary: Total number of years in a
department.
Bumping Rights: You can bumper a member that has less time in the district or department. You must have worked in that
position before your current position.
Non-Renewals: Members that do not have
tenure in the district is subjected to be nonrenewed without out any reason by the
district. Members are considered “At Will

your are entitled to a Danielson Hearing.
Danielson Hearing: A Danielson Hearing
is only granted to Non-Tenure teachers to
present reasons why a member should be
renewed. The hearing is about 15 minutes
conducted before the Superintendent.
