Eligibility
Organizations must:
• Be not-for-profit organizations
• Have the endorsement of the Provincial Sport
Organization for the relevant sport
• Be eligible for funding under the Federal (Sport Canada)
Hosting Policy
Events must:
• Be sanctioned by the International Federation
• Be funded on no more than three consecutive occasions
in the same municipality

• Ontario has hosted a number of international sport events
with significant economic benefits including the World
Figure Skating Championships (London 2013), the World
Junior Canoe Sprint Championships (Welland 2013), and
FIVB World League Volleyball (Toronto/Mississauga).
