Dave Hudock, 412 Cape Emerald Loop was present at the beginning of the meeting to voice his
concerns pertaining community security. The board agreed to discuss this as it was already an
agenda item
Annual Meeting. The annual meeting will be held July 11, 2015 at 9:00am at the Clubhouse.
Official Meeting Notification and Proxy’s will be sent out electronically during the first week in
June. Board members will present the past year’s expenditures and accomplishments as well
as available capital for future projects.
Community Watch. In lieu of the recent vandalism (Car Hopping) in Cape Emerald, Royal
Oaks and Dolphin Ridge we are asking that residents and their guest use discretion giving out
their entry gate key code. Report all suspicious activity to the Emerald Isle Police Department.
Please lock your vehicles and stow all personal property out of sight.
Pool. The board continues to monitor the pool water temperature and is currently discussing
options to heat the pool water during cooler weather. However, there are no plans on
purchasing a new heater at this time. Current pool water temperature is 78 degrees F.
Pier. The pier walkway has been power washed. A pier bench could be installed as early as
next week.
Fountains. The fountains are in need of attention along the sound. We are looking to budget
two new fountains into the 2015-2016 budget. The ponds were restocked new Grass Carp on
May 17, 2015.
Alligator. On May 27, 2015 the NC Wildlife Resources Commission Biologist paid a visit to
Cape Emerald at the request of a concerned Cape Emerald resident. After observing the
alligator for while the Biologist concluded that the alligator posed no threat to the community and
recommended we leave it alone. The Biologist also mentioned that if the “CEMA Board “
deemed the alligator a threat or safety concern then we could have the alligator destroyed or
possibly moved to another location”. There is no guarantee that another alligator would not
show up or that a relocated alligator would not return. Please report any unusual alligator
activity to a board member ASAP.
Entry Gate. The resent failure of the entrance gate was due to persistent use of incorrect
codes which resulted in the system locking up.
Account Balance. Email / Letters will be sent to all property owners who are delinquent on
their homeowner’s dues. Prompt payment is greatly appreciated.
The Budget Report ending May 31 was reviewed. To view - select the “Most Recent Monthly

Meeting adjourned at 7:15pm
