POPS Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is POPS? “POPS” stands for Pastors on Purpose, a strategic initiative
launched by our district in order to encourage, equip, communicate and connect
CCD pastors.
2. Who may attend? We always welcome guests, but this environment is designed for
pastors and staff, local and district licensed ministers, ministerial students, and
other clergy.
3. Why are all the meetings scheduled at Kankakee First Church? Since we are just
launching the initiative, K3 First has graciously accepted our request to host this
event and we are very grateful! We may well shift a meeting or two this year
(we’ll let you know) and very likely “POPS” will travel next year.
4. Is there a cost involved? Yes, but CCD is picking it up. On CCD, we love investing
in our leaders! There is no charge to attendees!
5. What will POPS include? A devotional, a word from our DS, a leadership
presentation (may be live or video), and some small group time. Oh, and donuts!
6. Will there be a similar environment created for co-vocational pastors who
cannot attend due to work? We are going to endeavor to make that happen. If
you would like to assist in that process please contact Brian Wangler at
[email protected].
7. Do I need to preregister? No, but you do need to preplan. As a leader you know
that if you don’t prioritize it, it won’t happen.
8. Who may I contact with additional questions? The POPS Team includes Brian
Wangler from C1, Randy Holden from Potomac, Steve Cook from Living Water,
Steve Spangenburg from Naperville Trinity, Ed Heck and Debbie Reiniche from K3
First, and Dr. Larry McKain.
