Each year we invite a number of participants from Denmark, Europe and abroad to participate in the event of the year. The annual event can be in the field of string orchestra, chamber orchestra, full symphony orchestra or events for instrumentalists and singers. In 2015 we have focused on the large repertoire for singers and pianists in order to celebrate the 150 years anniversary of Danish national composer Carl Nielsen and Finnish national composer Jean Sibelius. Additional pieces are of own choise. The duration of the programme should be between 15 and 20 minutes and should be known by The Carl Nielsen Masterclass October 1st 2015 at the latest. All participants will be given one piece by Carl Nielsen or Jean Sibelius to perform with other participants in class for song and piano accompaniment. There will be joint classes of singing and piano technique. www.helenegjerris.dk Fee & Accommodation The fee is 200 Euro (DKK 1,500) per person, which covers board and lodging at Markussens Hotel, Strandgade 22, 5610 Assens (double or family room), participation in the masterclasses and transport to concert venues. The fee does not cover transport to Assens. There may be bursaries available for participants from outside Denmark (see application form). Additional stay in Denmark can be arranged at own cost. Application Oct. 1st Participants should be 15 to 25 years old, and be at a high instrumental or vocal level. To ensure a high level at the CNM you are requested to fill in the application form with your CV.
