Faculty Research Mentors are expected to meet with their MMUF student during the year, participate in periodic MMUF events, and communicate with the MMUF Academic Coordinators. Faculty Research Mentors will receive a “Book” Award of $1,000 per year. This funding can be used for books, research materials, data packages, research assistants (who could be MMUF Fellows, who can also draw on term-time stipends) and conference travel. Generally, Faculty Mentors are expected to mentor no more than two MMUF Fellows at a time; faculty mentors are limited to one award at any given time. The MMUF applicant above has named you as their prospective Faculty Research Mentor. The MMUF Selection Committee would appreciate (1) your agreement to serve as the student’s research mentor, and (2) your candid evaluation of the individual’s research potential and academic promise.
