MissusSmartyPants.com Personal Profile for Body Type B Volume 8 Issue 2 – January 10, 2013 MissusSmartyPants loves to shop for you! This week’s style inspiration is from…Macy’s Shirts & Tops Shirts should be body skimming. Nothing baggy and nothing too tight either. Shirts fitted with princess seams add shape and structure to your silhouette. Shirts that are belted show off your waist. Even a skinny belt can help give you balance. If waist is not defined, choose tops with busy patterns, ruching (side gathers) and wear your tops untucked. Good choices for B's are: wrap tops, t-shirts with deep v-necks, wide scoop necks and shirts with some detailing at neckline. For an undefined waist try Spanx Hide & Sleek Camisole to smooth under slinky tops. The Latest NY Collection Top, Three-Quarter-Sleeve DKNY Jeans Top, LongPonte-Knit Peplum Sleeve Ruched V-Neck Alfani Top, ThreeQuarter-Sleeve Smocked Printed Cable & Gauge Top, Three-Quarter-Sleeve Printed Twist Front MSP Says... Also, use these guidelines when deciding what to keep in your wardrobe. These sites and clothes are chosen with your body type in mind. Remember fit is essential, NOT label size. Bottoms Choose only flat front pants. Avoid pleated pants because they add heft to your middle. Pants should be mid-rise (below or at navel) and ease into a straight leg. Average to taller “B’s” can wear a more flared pant. A flare or boot-cut pant balances out the curve of your hips. Shorts should be the length of a mini-skirt (mid-thigh), or should be at the knee (Bermuda, city shorts) to be attractive on your legs. Try Spanx Power Panty w/ Tummy Control under slinky pants and skirts. The Latest Style&co. So many choices it’s insane! But choosing the right shoes shouldn’t make you crazy if you follow the Missus Smarty Pants guidelines. If The Shoe Fits. Shoes must be comfortable! Look for stores that offer narrow or wider widths to properly accommodate your specific fit needs. Also, shop later in the day when your feet are at their largest. Shoes that fit well are ones that you will grab and wear, again and again. Choose Your Lifestyle. Choose shoes that fit your lifestyle. If you work in a professional business setting, you will need more shoes to fit in this category. If you are a SAHM (stay at home mom) you will need more shoes that are casual in nature-remember the object is to show your style; so not just 4 pairs of white tennis shoes! Take Shape. Take your body shape in account. Short/petite- 2 ½” to 3” heels maximum. Beyond this you will look like you are walking on stilts and leaning forward. Thick/full ankles- Avoid any shoe that has ankle straps. This draws attention to them with a horizontal line. Opt for pumps, sling backs and other slip on styles. Curvy to Full Fashion Gals- Go easy on the skinny high heels. This look only highlights that you are thicker in stature. Instead, wear a shoe that is 2 to 2 ½” with a stacked heel. This will even out your proportions better.
