IN-STORE PERSONAL GROOMING AND
UNIFORM DRESS CODE
Your employees represent the Jimmy John's image to every customer they serve. Because of this and the necessity to
maintain consistency chain-wide, their attire should always be neat and appropriate with adherence to the following
guidelines:
HYGIENE
> Freshly showered/clean-shaven every day. facial hair (beards, mustaches) should be neatly trimmed and not longer than
a quarter inch in lengthJ
> Hair must be clean and combed. Long hair must be worn in a ponytail or put into your cap. All hair in front and sides of
head tucked into cap. Coloring of hair limited to natural hair colors only (no purple. green, etc.)
> Employees wearing fingernail polish or artificial nails must wear intact gloves. fingernail length cannot exceed %~ No
heavy or glitter makeup, heavy cologne or perfume is allowed.
> Hands must be washed and thoroughly dried before starting to work with food. Hands must be washed between tasks
and if work is interrupted. If your municipality requires gloves, you must wear them and change them often.
> You cannot smell like smoke or alcohol at the beginning of your shift or at any time during your shift.
CLOTHING
> An approved Jimmy John's t-shirt. A Jimmy John's mock turtleneck may be worn from November 1 - April 1. Management may wear an approved Jimmy Johns polo style shirt or approved button down shirt. Shirts must be clean and in
good repair. Shirts that are faded may not be worn. All shirts must be worn tucked-in. A white or black long sleeve t-shirt
may be worn underneath a Jimmy John's shirt during cold weather. (Short sleeve t-shirts that are worn under an approved shirt must also be black or white.)
> An approved Jimmy John's logo~ hat. All employees are to wear the baseball style Jimmy John's hat. No university or
other hats are permitted. Hats must be worn with bill facing forward. Delivery drivers may wear the approved stocking
hat from November 1 - April 1. Hats must be dean and in good repair.
> Blue jeans or tan khaki pants, or blue jeans or tan khaki shorts. Shorts must be at least mid-thigh and may not hang
below the bottom of the knee. Pants must come down to the top of the shoe. They must be clean with no stains or holes
and in overall good repair. Baggy, sagging or cargo pants or shorts are not permitted.
> A brown or black plain leather belt is the only belt that may be worn. Managers must wear a belt; it is optional for hourly
employees.
> Shoes must be closed-toe, dosed-hee\, rubbef~ srn>es. mack 01' brown shoes Of Ttmberland style boots. No combat
boots. The socks with non-tennis shoes must match the color of pants or shoes. Tennis shoes may be any color, but cannot be more than 25% fluorescent in color: When wearing tennis shoes, white socks must be worn. All socks must come

over the top of the ankle. Tennis shoes and white socks must be worn with shorts. Shoes must be clean and in good
repair.
> White, doth aprons worn full around the neck. oM\ manageys, in-shop and deweTY drivers {when inshop} must wear one.
> Jackets - drivers who wear jackets during cold weather must keep them clean and free of any tears or grunge.
> If a manager believes an employee looks sloppy they shoufd be sent home at the manager's discretion to correct the
problem.
JEWELRY
> Only one plain earring per ear (small posts or small hoops no bigger than the size of a dime), no other visible piercings
allowed; no facial pierCings permitted (eyebrow, lip, tongue or other).
> One plain ring per hand.
> Only one support bracelet allowed per person. Bracelet must be professionally made for an approved national cause.
> Only one watch total per person.
> Limit one plain necklace worn tucked inside of shirt. No choker style, hemp/rope, beaded or large metal chain necklaces
are permitted.
> No other jewelry and no controversial jewelry is allowed.
> No visible tattoos or portions of tattoos are allowed.
NOTE: Changes in the dress code and the design ofJimmy John's shirts and hats may take place from time to time. A written
notice will be sent to all franchisees as this occurs. All stores must comply with the current and any future specifications.
I have received a copy ofthe Jimmy John's In-Store Personal Grooming and Uniform Dress Code policy, and I acknowledge that
it is my responsibility to read, understand and follow the guidelines as set forth by company policy.
