DEXTER COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
—3,660 total district enrollment—
Why Dexter is Unique
Dexter High School is consistently ranked as one
of the top comprehensive public high schools in
the state of Michigan. Alma mater to numerous
National Merit Scholars, Dexter offers a challenging
curriculum which affords many educational
options to students including the International
Baccalaureate Diploma Programme starting with
the class of 2014, numerous Advanced Placement
courses, and technical education programs
available through the county-wide consortium. Our
music programs garner top honors year after year,
and we hold multiple state championships in a
myriad of sports. Top that off with state and national
awards for our journalism, debate, forensics,
robotics, Quiz Bowl, and Ocean Bowl clubs, and it's
easy to understand our Dreadnaught pride!
Post-Secondary Pursuit
Currently, 93 percent of Dexter graduates
immediately begin post-secondary education at
an institution of higher learning (72 percent in fouryear programs, 21 percent in two-year programs).
Our remaining students often matriculate for
additional education at a later date.
