of the day’s events. Designs should be handed in to school office by the closing date, Friday 17 th April - have
fun!

Netball
As winners of Netball League 4, our team were invited to attend a winners and runners up tournament last
week at Bentham Domes. There were 10 teams at the finals tournaments, all winners of runners up in their
leagues. Dinglewell were in Pool B, playing against Grange, Harwicke, Elmbridge and Kingsholm. The team
played superbly throughout all of their matches, not losing a match. This meant they went through to the
semi-finals against Hempsted. After winning the semi-final 5-2, they progressed to the final against St Mary’s. They kept
their cool and their heads after going 0-1 down. They fought back with some excellent team play and eventually won 4-2.
As Tournament winners they were also in action at the County Finals Tournament on Wednesday this week and a full report
will be in the next newsletter.
Gymnastics news
The Gymnastics team had another successful competition last Sunday at the GSGA Novice Floor &
Vault competition. Amelia Villacis won the Gold medal in the Under 9 Girls competition, with Libby
Ward and Evie Giles tying for the Silver medal with two other gymnasts! In the Under 11
competition Lorna Collinson won the gold medal. Congratulations to all the gymnasts who
participated, all of whom achieved novice standard.
Gym Club news
Gym Club will only continue for gymnasts selected for the Intermediate competition. Those children will receive a letter
inviting them to this from Mrs Halford. Thank you to everyone who has attended this year. Gym Club will begin again in
September.
Y3 trip to Gloucester Cathedral
Year 3 had a fantastic trip to Gloucester Cathedral on Tuesday. Children dressed up as Pilgrims, made
stained glass windows and toured lots of parts of the Cathedral which are often unseen by the public! A
huge thank you to all the parent helpers who came with us.
Y5 Moon Buggy racing - results
Huge congratulations to all of year 5 for the hard work and excellent team skills that were shown this week
whilst they built their moon buggies to help Astronaut Charlie travel around the moon! The final race was
extremely close and very exciting; it ended with Class 8 and Class 9 in a very close 1st and 2nd place. Thank
you so much to all the parents/grandparents who cheered their children on and to Michael Wright for helping
Class 8 with building their buggies on Monday
