Dear Parents and Students of FLCS,
With the spring break upon us and now anticipating warmer weather and a fresh new Spring season, the school year enters into
the home stretch. With approximately 3 months of classes before final exams in June, there is plenty of time to address any
academic concerns that may lead to future problems. I encourage all parents to keep in contact with your children’s teachers if
you have any concerns.
Father Lacombe Catholic School has been very busy during this time of Lent in preparation for the death of Christ on Good
Friday and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is a period of 40 days of repentance, with prayer, fasting and abstinence, and
Confession. Thank You to all students, parents and staff for their participation, commitment and sacrifice in our Lenten projects
which began with Shrove Tuesday pancake breakfast, our Ash Wednesday Mass and our stations of the cross. Please join us for
our Easter Mass on Friday, April 10th @ 9:00am at St. Stephen’s Parish as we commemorate the slaying of the true Lamb of God
and the Resurrection of Christ.
A huge Thank You and Congratulations to our basketball coaches for their time and commitment to our Athletic program. All
participants had a wonderful season of friendly competition and in meeting new friends. As a result all of our teams did very well
and the Jr. Boys “A” team won the league and also qualified for the CWAJAHAAs and won the Championship for the second
year in a row. Congratulations!!! As well, our running club coaches prepared our student participants well for the Jr. events which
took place at the Butter Dome on the U of A campus in March! Great Work!!
Registration is well underway for the 2015-2016 school year. All of our budgeting, program planning and student timetabling
revolves around our student numbers so it is critical that we have an accurate indication of our enrolment for the fall. If you have
not yet done so, please contact our front office staff indicating if your children will be returning to FLCS for the 2015/2016
school year. Thank you in advance.
With the warmer weather approaching our staff will continue to monitor our FLCS dress code. Please support us by adhering to
the dress code which can be located on our website as well as in your child’s student agenda.
Thank you all for your continued support to our wonderful school community of Father Lacombe Catholic School. God Bless!
