Commemorative postcards of the six prize winning works to be given away during the exhibition. entry form available online due 4pm, Saturday 28 February 2015 Photographers of the Gladstone Region were invited to capture the spirit of Central Queensland’s lifestyle, people and environment for this annual photographic exchange between residents living in the Gladstone Region and Saiki City, Japan. Entries were open to all residents in the Gladstone Region, of any age or ability. All Gladstone Region entries are displayed in this exhibition with thirty selected to be enlarged and sent to Japan for display in June 2015. A National Gallery of Australia HANDS-ON touring exhibition enabling people, including small children, those living with disabilities or special needs and the elderly, the opportunity to discover museum quality works of art, thanks to the 1988 donation from Jim Wolfensohn. The Blue Case: Technology, showcases the works of six contemporary Australian artists and designers. The works focus on function, innovative design and construction. The ‘People’s Choice’ artwork will be announced at the exhibitions conclusion and will become the face of all publicity materials for the 2016 exhibition. Running annually for 21 years, this exhibition is a Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum Society program, initiated by the late Society patron, Mr Cyril Golding (1920 - 2012). A Gladstone Saiki Sister City Advisory Committee initiative, modelled on Japan’s centuries old annual Children’s Day, offering primary school aged children of the Gladstone Region a glimpse into the lives of their peers in Japan, through a variety of hands-on craft activities.
