MAY 2015
A Message from the Principal, Mrs. Pearce
During this time of the year we are starting to think about
classes for next year. A great deal of thought care
and discussion goes into the appropriate placement of each child. If your child has specific needs
please submit these in writing before the end of
May, in the form of a hand written note addressed
to Mrs. Pearce. Of course, this is not the
opportunity to request a certain teacher, friends, or that
your child may not be considered for a blended classroom as
they continue to be a reality at Harrison. We will take into
consideration the learning needs and peers for your child
but would like to be informed of any circumstances that
may impact your child’s learning.
Author Visit
Author and Illustrator Ruth Ohi is coming
to visit Harrison on May 21st! She will be
meeting the whole school to read some of
her books, talk about what it's like being
an author, and to do some illustration
exercises with us. Ms. Ohi is the author
and illustrator of 17 books, including
the Chicken, Pig, Cow series, Shhh! My Brother's
Napping!, Clara and the Bossy, and the Fox &
Squirrel series. She's the illustrator of over 50
books! One of her books is Kenta and the Big
Wave, which Mrs. Provost has been reading to
some of you - who knows, perhaps she'll autograph our
library copy!

Harrison School. Team members included Graeme
W., Amy Mc., Spencer J., Mackenzie F., Katie S.,
Marissa H., Paige B., William S., and Kaca N. Way
