Easter Service Thank you for the support at our Easter Service. It was lovely to have „Boomer the Donkey‟ join us again this year. The children sang and spoke beautifully and Miss Stevenson enjoyed her surprise presentation. Forest School Maths Day The whole school enjoyed working with student who are Maths specialist from Exeter University. They used the natural environment to assist with their mathematical skill and understanding. Handball tournament - Brixton Primary School Congratulations to our 19 children who took part in the Handball tournament this week. They all played brilliantly and we are now the proud holders of the Premier Sport Trophy until the next tournament that takes place in June. Watermark Concert A big thank you to all adults and children who were involved in this year's Watermark concerts. The children worked incredibly hard across many weeks to learn a huge number of songs under the 'Gospel/Spiritual' theme. Despite a very tiring couple of days, the children performed each concert with enthusiasm and smiles. We have heard a great deal of positive comments about Holbeton's performances in all three concerts and the children should be very proud of themselves. Roll on next year! Reminder We would like to compliment you and the children on their noticeable independence skills which they have acquired when being dropped off in the playground in the mornings. Thank you for your support, the teaching staff find this very useful as lessons can start on time. We would like to encourage Foundation Stage children to follow this lead in preparation for September. KS1 Dance Children performed a dance sequence at the end of their unit of work on dance with Mr Wadey who has said: “As the term started, I was sure that the children would be learning the ABC‟s – agility, balance and co-ordination through dance. I soon realised that their ability levels of fundamental movements were of a high standard and perhaps even good enough for a school play/dance. As part of my job I travel to many schools teaching PE. I can honestly say, I would not have attempted to do a school dance with this very young age group at any other school. My professional opinion is that Holbeton honestly and religiously takes the time to teach pupils as individuals with differing and varied learning styles and behaviours and this is indeed the key to their success. By far one of the most splendid and nurturing schools I have taught in”. Lewis Wadey - Head coach at Arsenal Soccer Schools A PLEA! - small world play toys As part of an ongoing project Mrs Jarvis would like any small world play toys. If you are having a 'spring clean' over the break she would greatly appreciate any of the following...
