Catechism in a Year
Is there some inner logic that unites the sacraments with each other? All sacraments are an encounter with Christ, who
is himself the original sacrament. There are sacraments of initiation, which introduce the recipient into the faith:
Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. There are sacraments of healing: Reconciliation and the Anointing of the Sick.
There are sacraments of communion & mission: Matrimony & Holy Orders. Baptism joins us with Christ. Confirmation
gives us his Spirit. The Eucharist unites us with him. Confession reconciles us with Christ. Through the Anointing of the
Sick, Christ heals, strengthens, and consoles. In the sacrament of Matrimony, Christ promises his love in our love and
his fidelity in our fidelity. Through the sacrament of Holy Orders, priests have the privilege of forgiving sins and
celebrating the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. (YOUCAT question 139)
STEWARDSHIP THOUGHTS
Today we celebrate the inner life of the Triune God,
one God in three persons. The Trinity is one of the
deepest realities, or mysteries of our faith, meaning
that it is beyond anything we can experience. God,
Father, Son, & Spirit is an incomprehensible mystery
which is based in love – a communion of love. Saint
Augustine explained the Trinity thusly: God, the Father
as the lover, Jesus as the beloved and the Holy Spirit
as the love between them. It’s all about relationship
and that is a beautiful example of how God wishes us
to live on earth. At baptism we become Children of
God and members of the Body of Christ & are called
to live in loving relationship with one another and with
God. Not an easy task for we are called to love in
the midst of rejection, misunderstanding, hatred and
manipulation. How do we live in union and harmony
within the Body of Christ? How do we become one?
Jesus prays in John 17:22, “...that they may be one,
as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they
may become completely one...” Our example is the
Holy Trinity who shows us how to live in mutual love
and respect so that we can become a community of
love on earth. Spend some stewardship of time in
prayer. Against whom do you hold a grudge? With
whom do you need to reconcile? What hatreds and
prejudices do you hold in your heart? Christian
artists, Avalon, give us a goal in their song ”Testify
To Love” when they sing “For as long as I shall life, I
will testify to love.” May we strive to emulate and
testify to the love of God in all we do and say.
STEWARDSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
In His Name – we’re collecting shoes of all type (new,
old, torn or worn) for the Ohio Kiwanis groups to
send to Haiti to help reduce diseases transmitted from
walking barefoot in less than sanitary conditions.
Garden Soxx – We’re in need of stewards to deliver
gardens this Sat., May 30th at 9 am. If you can help or
if you have a pick-up truck and are willing to be a
driver, please call the rectory by Wed., May 27th.
Adopt-A-Plot – It’s time to get out there and trim the
bushes, plant flowers, pull those weeds and clean up
the debris. Thank you for your stewardship.

A New Perspective on Alzheimer's & Dementia Care:

1. How and when to seek help from a physician.
2. The difference between Alzheimer's and Dementia.
3. How different parts of the brain are affected by Dementia.
4. A unique and positive approach to Dementia care.
5. Skills and techniques to provide effective care.

This FREE talk will describe how CRS responds to the call
