WHAT: Performance Evaluations
Most supervisors hate giving employee evaluations, but it’s probably
because they’ve never been trained on how to do them right. Here’s your
opportunity to correct that.
 Employee discussion of raises and reviews
 How to review employees you don’t like
 Maintaining objectivity and consistency
WHY: Promoting Optimal Employee Performance - Focusing and guiding
others in accomplishing performance objectives which are in line with the
department or organization’s vision; identifies potential in others.
WHO: This training is appropriate for supervisors that complete performance
evaluations
WHEN, WHERE: Tuesday, March 31, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Administrative
Conference Room, City Hall
WHAT: New Employee Orientation
Employees are 69% more likely to remain with an
organization after three years if they complete a full
orientation program. A full program consist of
 the first day paperwork completion and review by HR,
 dept./division specific training by the new employee’s
dept.,
 job specific training by the immediate supervisor, and
 an overview of the organization, general employee
expectations, etc., by Training & Development.
All four pieces of the program are critical for employee retention, as well as for getting employees started
on the right foot, with all the information needed to be successful employees.
WHY: Required – This course supports the development of all General Employee Competencies.
WHO: This training is appropriate for all employees that have not yet attended NEO

WHAT: DOT Alcohol & Drug Testing Driver Alert!
What you need to know about DOT alcohol and drug testing
WHY: Required. This class supports the development of
1. Professional Knowledge and Expertise: Having achieved a
comprehensive level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in
position-related areas;
2. Policies and Procedure: Maintains knowledge of and applies
applicable policies and procedures and specific functional area;
3. Government Rules and Regulations: Understands applicable governmental rules and
regulations and their impact.

Supervisors
What DOT supervisors need to know about reasonable
suspicion testing.
WHO: This training is required for all CDL
SUPERVISORS. You do not have to personally hold a
CDL. If you supervisor anyone with a CDL you need this training.
