graduation practice. Please note that all senior debts must be paid in

Dear Senior Class Parents/Guardians:
Congratulations! You as parents/guardians can take a lot of pride and credit for the upcoming graduation
of your son or daughter. This should be a festive time and we have taken every precaution to insure that
celebrations on the part of some seniors do not undermine the dignity of our graduation ceremonies.
This year we are continuing our efforts to control any possible disruptions and are asking for your help
and support in this matter.
THURSDAY, June 4, 2015
Graduation Practice will start at 1:00 in the gym and will be over when we get it right! The
office staff would like to honor the seniors with an ice cream treat after they successfully complete their
graduation practice. Please note that all senior debts must be paid in cash before graduation practice.
Senior Honors Night will start at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Seniors should report at 6:30
wearing their graduation cap and gown. All seniors will be honored at this event and participation is
expected.
SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2015
Graduation will start at 2:00 p.m. in the gymnasium. Seniors need to report at
1:15 p.m. Any student who has not actually completed all graduation requirements or has outstanding
money obligations owed to the school will not be allowed to participate in graduation.
Another area of importance is the dress of seniors:
For young men - a shirt, preferably white, with a collar (tie is optional), long dress pants, socks and
shoes
For young women - a skirt or slacks with appropriate top or a dress, and shoes or “dress” sandals
****NO BLUE JEANS, NO FLIP FLOPS****
Students not properly dressed will not participate in honors night or graduation ceremonies. Please make
sure caps and gowns remain in their original condition. NO DECORATIONS OR WRITING ON CAPS
WILL BE ALLOWED, THIS IS A FORMAL OCCASION.
Good behavior is expected at all times. Any senior student requiring discipline in the last few
days of school could jeopardize their privilege to walk at graduation ceremonies.
These procedures have helped to make Jonesville High School's graduation ceremonies the dignified
recognition of student achievement they should be. We count on your help and support in continuing
these efforts. If you have any questions, please contact the high school office at 849-9934.
Sincerely,
Dustin Scharer, Principal
Jonesville High School
