Salary: $54,381 per annum ($1,045 per week)
Plus up to 14.5% superannuation (conditions apply)
9-day fortnight

You will complete daily work programs undertaking a variety of tasks within the area of
engineering maintenance. Work activities include road and footpath maintenance (including
brick paving and concrete laying).

KEY OBJECTIVE

To work as part of a team operating plant and equipment and providing assistance
to Operation Services Engineering Construction and Maintenance in accordance
with daily work programs as directed by the supervisor.

Promote a safe work environment.

Provide high quality customer service.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ensure all works are undertaken in a productive and timely manner in accordance
with plans, ISO 9001, specifications, procedures and adopted practices.

Ensure all plant and equipment under your control is used and maintained in
accordance with City and manufacturer requirements.

Ensure that traffic management operations are conducted safely and in guidance
with the current Main Roads Code of Practice.

Comply with OSH legislation, City protocols, procedures and other OSH related
requirements, and actively support the City safety systems.

Customer service is delivered in accordance with the City’s Customer Service
Charter and relevant protocols and procedures.

ACTIVITIES

 Undertake daily work programs in an effective and efficient way in accordance with
specifications, procedures, adopted practices and as directed by the supervisor.
 Undertake tasks and activities related to the following areas:
Public Access Way maintenance
Concrete maintenance
Footpath maintenance
Road maintenance
Drainage maintenance
Paving maintenance
 Truck driving associated with maintenance activities.
 Undertake general clean up or maintenance duties including garden/park maintenance.
 Operate and maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s
instruction and safe operating procedures.
 Report any defects, loss or damage to machinery or equipment to the supervisor.
 Complete daily timesheets in an accurate manner.
 Perform other duties as requested within the scope of this level and in accordance with
skills, knowledge and experience.

 Work in a safe manner that will not endanger the safety and health of yourself, other
workers or members of the public.
 Ensure that safe working conditions and practices are in place at all times by taking
personal ownership of safety.
 Report unsafe practices or hazards to supervisors or safety and health representatives

 Basic concrete laying, compacting and finishing and / or basic garden
maintenance techniques including mowing and pruning.
 Asphalt maintenance practices.

 Truck driving.
Qualifications / Clearances:
 Current WA ‘MR’ Class Driver’s Licence.

Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Controller Certificates.
 Construction Safety Induction Card (White Card).
