About LtN - Lacrosse the Nations

Lacrosse the Nations (LtN) unifies the lacrosse community to sustainably improve
education and health while creating hope and opportunity for children in need.
Internationally, over 1000 students per week participate in PE and afterschool lacrosse programs in
Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Domestically, 250 kids participate in our summer program through the
Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia. Each year, more than 500 U.S. youth lacrosse and college
lacrosse players join our efforts as fundraisers and hands-on volunteers.
In each of the communities where we work, our volunteers partner with local people
and organizations to implement our programs, including:
• Life Skills Curriculum. Through PE and after school practice, LtN’s original curriculum
draws connections between actions on the playing field and in daily life. The curriculum
focuses on the principles of work ethic, motivation, response to failure, ability to work
with others, confidence and self-awareness.
• Team LtN. The fundamental mechanism that we use to engage the U.S. youth lacrosse
community. Through efforts like SCOOP FOR LOOT, our young supporters become
ambassadors for LtN, add meaning to their athletic efforts and experience the power of
hands-on philanthropy.
• Team Trips. Team Trips provide youth who’ve previously participated with Team LtN
the opportunity to visit and volunteer at our international locations.
• Volunteer Program. This program provides dedicated individuals the opportunity to
become an integral part of our international work.
• Supplemental Feeding Program. We provide supplemental nutrition at our schoolyear and summer programs.
• Coaches Scholarship and LtN Scholars Programs. Local coaches and top studentathletes from Nicaragua and Costa Rica receive aid for higher ed, job opportunities and
mentoring.
