Fundraising Newsletter
Issue 1
April 2015
Welcome to the first King’s College Fundraising Newsletter. Our aim is to provide you with information
on where your fundraising Euros are being spent! Furthermore, we want to inform you about the types
of activities the Fundraising Team do and to raise your awareness of upcoming events. Ultimately, we
hope to get more parents involved in our activities, even if you only want to participate, or help out

‘Cheerleading Team’
The Fundraising Team recently
supported the ‘Kings College
Cheerleading Team’, with the
purchase of 10 made-to-measure,
extremely fashionable uniforms
for the squad as well as three
matching tops for their coaches.
We are sure you will agree the
girls all look smashing. Keep
your eyes out for their first show
in their new uniforms. Best of
luck girls!
Charity Project
‘Reach Out’
Head and Deputy Head Girls Hannah & Elisa,
present the vouchers to ‘Reach Out’
representatives
The Fundraising Team’s most recent local charity recipient was
‘Reach Out’ in Torrevieja. ‘Reach Out’ assists homeless families
to get back on their feet by providing food, meals, household
goods and much more! You can read more about what they do at
www.reachouttorrevieja.com.
At an assembly on Friday 13th March, the charity were presented
with Carrefour vouchers, to the value of €1,000, to help them
buy essentials for those in need.

School Patio Equipment
The Primary School Council began its fundraising at the end of
last year. Students collected non-perishable food items to help run
their own tombola at the Christmas Fayre. With the monies
earned they hope to purchase a Trim Trail Track for the patio
(similar to the picture on the right). To support them in their
efforts, the Fundraising Team have agreed to help the children
reach their €2000 goal. Of course, this includes your continued
support: sending your child to school with the suggested donation
for dress-down days; purchasing food and drinks at school events;
donating your outgrown and/or purchasing second-hand
uniform items; attending the Summer Ball; buying raffle tickets
and/or donating raffle prizes!
Currently still a ‘dream in the making’: the Primary
Student Council Trim Trail. Your support is needed!
Second Hand Uniforms
Did you know? By donating your outgrown, gently worn school uniforms you not
only help the student body and numerous charities, but you also receive a 20%
discount voucher to be used for any future purchases. The donations bucket is next
to the school reception. When you leave your donation, be sure to ask for your
discount voucher. Second-hand uniforms can be donated at any time, but keep an
eye on “The Letter from the Head”, for future sale dates.
Summer Ball 2015: Friday 12th June in ‘Real Casino de Murcia’
Come along, let your hair down and enjoy the ‘Summer Ball’. This is an evening not to be missed as it
always proves to be a great fun for both parents and teachers. Together we raise the roof and a fantastic
amount of money. This year we are exceptionally lucky to have secured the fantastic venue of the ‘Real
Casino de Murcia’ www.restaurantrealcasinomurcia.com on Friday 12th June.
The €50 per person ticket includes: an audio-guided tour of the casino, welcome drinks and starters, a
four-course meal (more drinks included), and a DJ to provide the perfect music for us to dance the rest
of the night away. Not to mention the fabulous raffle prizes (watch for the opportunity to make your or
your company’s donation)! Tickets will be on sale soon!
