Official Rules of Contest
To Participate One Must:
 Be 16 or older to enter
 Entrant must be in attendance to present recipe dish
 Provide enough of your recipe for five judges
 Coolers/ice will be permitted. No heating elements will be permitted EXCEPT crock pots/slow cookers
 Disclose all ingredients of recipe
 Recipe must include horseradish
 Must prepare recipe in advance and bring to the site for judging. Assembly of dish allowed on-site
 Deliver recipe to North Fork Horseradish Festival by 11:30am E.S.T on April 19, 2015
 Dishes cannot be sampled to general attendees due to county health code rules

CONTEST PERIOD: The North Fork Horseradish Festival “Horseradish Recipe Contest” will take place at the North Fork

Horseradish Festival on April 19 , 2015. The contest will begin at 12:00pm and the winner(s) will be announced at the
th
conclusion of the event. All entry forms must be received by 4:45 pm E.S.T on April 10 , 2015. ONLY THE FIRST 20
ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open only to individuals who are legal United States residents physically residing in one of the 50
United States/District of Columbia who are 16 years or older at the date of entry. Contest is subject to all applicable federal,
state, municipal and local laws and regulations. By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to comply with and be bound by
these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all matters pertaining to The Contest
(“Eligible Entrant[s]”).
LIMIT: Limit one entry per person. All entries become the property of the sponsor and event producer; and will not be
returned.
AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: By participating in the Contest, Entrant agrees to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s
and/or Administrator’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to this Contest. These Official Rules form a
binding legal agreement between the Eligible Entrant and the Sponsor with respect to the Contest. By submitting a recipe, the
Entrant warrants that his/her recipe is his/her original recipe and that s/he owns all rights to the recipe.
WINNER SELECTION: Recipes must include horseradish. Recipes must be delivered to the North Fork Horseradish Festival
by 11:30am E.S.T. on Saturday April 19, 2015 in order to be submitted for judging. There will be a panel of judges who will
rate recipes from 1-5 in 4 categories: PRESENTATION, CREATIVITY, USE OF HORSRADISH, and OVERALL TASTE.
GENERAL: By entering this Contest, Entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules, and agrees to the use of his/her
name, and recipe submission in any form of publicity or marketing determined by the Sponsor and event producer.
Entrants waive any right to claim ambiguity in these Official Rules.
DISPUTES: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of
or connected with this contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action,
and exclusively by the state and federal courts located in New York; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be
limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this contest, but in no event attorneys'
fees; and (3) unless otherwise prohibited, under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant
hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than
for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and
questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and
obligations of the entrant and Sponsor in connection with the contest shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with,
the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of State of New
York or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of New
York.
