These days were truly special here at OLP as the various classes loved the lunches and treats provided by the wonderful room moms and parents as well as the delicious feast the 2nd and 3rd grade parents set up for the teachers and staff with the help of Mrs. Marie Becker and Mrs. Tracy Mitra. We are all so appreciative of the time, energy, and monetary donations it takes to be able to put on this luncheon for so many, as well as sharing these delicious homemade dishes. Another special treat was the performance of our very own OLP Irish Dancers! Adding to St. Patrick Day, our preschoolers searched the school for the visiting leprechaun clues to the “pot of gold”, and ask the first graders about the antics those leprechauns created in their classrooms! Parent Teacher Conferences (optional at this time) will take place the afternoon of Friday, March 27th . Any parent who requested a conference should have received the scheduled time this week on the form returned home with your child. Report Cards will be published on School Speak the afternoon of Tuesday, March 24th. 6th grader Sean LeTourneau became a member of Ozzie’s Reading Club Scholars, sponsored by the Kane County Cougars, as he was awarded a $250 scholarship for his essay on the positive benefits of reading. Congratulations Sean on this award and for realizing how important reading is for all of us. Last week’s Chronicles congratulated our very own 2nd grader, Vikram Oberai, who recently competed in the Illinois Catholic School Chess Championships and was awarded 3rd place. Vikram did not stop there as he did very well in the Illinois State Chess Tournament at Bloomington by winning 4 out of 7 rounds, and has entered the Catholic School Tournament at Cardinal Bernardin School today, March 20th. Crusader Sports Congratulations to OLP’s 7A Boys Basketball team who competed this past weekend in the Basketball Championship and took 2nd place. This was a tough loss against the only team they lost to in the regular season, St. John the Baptist. The team and coaches would like to thank all the Crusader fans who came out to cheer them on and show their support. That Crusader spirit was surely alive!
