Dear Fellow Restaurant Owner,
The Hospitality Group of Flagler Avenue would like to invite you to participate in the 7th
Annual New Smyrna Beach Food Festival. This event will take place on the evening of
Thursday, April 16th along Flagler Avenue. Flagler Avenue will be closed from Pine to So.
Atlantic Streets for the event from 5 to 9pm. Last year’s Spring Food Festival was attended by
over 7,000 people and this year we expect up to 8,000!
A variety of local restaurants are being invited to sell samples or “tastings” of their best dishes to
the large crowds that will be roaming up and down Flagler Ave. All items are to be priced
between $3 and $5 dollars. What better way to advertise your business and promote your menu
than to let someone buy scaled down portions of your best items!
You are welcome to advertise your restaurant at the event by any means you wish, including
banners, to-go menus, business cards, coupons, flyers, etc within your booth. Solicitation
outside your booth is prohibited. Selling of beverages is also prohibited.
There will also be a friendly competition sponsored by Southern Stone Events Group. “Best in
Show” trophy will be awarded in two categories this year, either “Best American Fare” or “Best
International Fare” to the favorite entry voted on by a panel of judges. In addition to bragging
rights the “Best in Show” winner will also receive local media interviews and social media
marketing.
All participating restaurants must have a current license and food handler’s cards on site. All
guidelines set forth by the Board of Health must be followed. (Please see Guide to Temporary
Food Service Events) In order to be part of our event program, we need the entry form
COMPLETED AND RETURNED BY APRIL 6th. This will be “menu of the day” and will
inform all the hungry crowds what you are serving. There will be a $50 fee for a booth space (10
x 10) which includes advertising. Larger sized booth spaces are also available. Tents are
suggested by the board of health. No electricity is provided. Participating restaurant must
provide every thing that is needed for the day.

1) INDEMNIFICATION: By signing this application, Vendor agrees to indemnify fully and save and hold harmless the City of New
Smyrna Beach, Merchants of Flagler, Inc., their officers, employees and agents, against any and all damage claims, liabilities and
causes of action of every kind and nature (including but not limited to fire, accident, occurrence, theft or condition in or upon the
ground/site), to the extent they are not caused by the conduct of the Merchants of Flagler, Inc. or the City of New Smyrna Beach,
their agents or employees. Nothing contained in this Agreement shall be constituted as a waiver of the City’s sovereign immunity
granted pursuant to Section 768.28, Fla. Stat".
2) "I have read and agree to abide by all the rules governing the New Smyrna Beach International Food Festival. I do hereby release
and hold harmless the City of New Smyrna Beach and the Merchants of Flagler from any and all manner of actions, suits, damages,
or claims whatsoever arising from any loss or damage to my property, or anyone’s property in my possession or supervision. I shall
comply with all applicable Federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations. I understand that I am wholly responsible for collecting
and submitting Florida Sales Tax (6.5% Volusia County) during this event."
